Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Business & Industry Association is testifying today in strong support of a bill that will direct Gov. Phil Murphy to develop and implement a county-based mitigation plan to allow businesses to operate during a pandemic.
Middletown NJ, Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger (R-Monmouth) strongly agrees with Dr. Anthony Fauci when he said during an interview with Governor Phil Murphy yesterday that New Jersey can and should continue to reopen:
“It was great to hear from Dr. Fauci and I couldn’t agree more, New Jersey should continue to reopen as soon as possible so let’s start now,” Scharfenberger commented. “In fact, I am even more confident that we should begin to ease restrictions immediately so businesses can get back to operating safely, at full strength.”
Trenton NJ, Senator Steven Oroho is calling for the safe reopening of all businesses throughout the Garden State echoing a plea made by the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, the largest statewide employer association.
The New Jersey Business Coalition, a group of more than 100 leading business and nonprofit groups throughout the state, issued the following statement calling for the safe reopening of all New Jersey businesses that currently remain closed.
“The New Jersey Business Coalition is pleased to see movement toward the reopening of New Jersey’s casinos on July 2. The casinos are a significant economic driver of New Jersey’s economy and our tourism industry.”
Ridgewood NJ, With all states gradually reopening but monitoring for any spikes in COVID-19 cases that would impact their reopening plans, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released updated rankings for the States with the Fewest Coronavirus Restrictions.

Ridgewood NJ, The New Jersey Business Coalition released the following joint statement today urging the faster reopening of businesses that can currently meet safety protocols.
“We are at a pivotal time regarding the livelihoods of New Jerseyans and their ability to provide for themselves and their families.
“Thousands of our businesses are struggling to survive, and are clinging to every last resource they have attempting to make it to their prescribed reopening date, with many not having one yet. And even then, they’ll face great challenges due to smaller capacities in which they will be required to operate.

Glen Rock NJ, in a nice turn of events , the Glen Rock council has approved the July 4th parade. According to IDA President Jim Leonard the borough is looking at a scaled down version parade that would include route changes as well as participants. The parade would go from Borough Hall to Faber Field. Participants would include just groups and people from Glen Rock. It was recommended by council that they have social distancing ambassadors marching along the parade route. The final hurdle to having the 81st 4th of July Parade is approval by Police Chief Ackermann of the availability of the police, and the closing of Rock Road.
