ShopRite Cup Winners , Wakefern Corporation awards points to schools for 1-winning group championships and 2-for being disqualification-free all year in all NJSIAA sports. At the end of the year, the six top earning schools (four public schools and two non-publics) are awarded the prestigious Shop-Rite Cup.

“The flight of New Jersey high school graduates has a big part of its origin in the sheer quality of their academic records, putting them, as a group, at a competitive advantage over the high school graduates of more or less all other U.S. states. For example, In no other US. state is the competition as stiff, year in and year out, as it is in New Jersey for the status of National Merit Commended Student, National Merit Semifinalist and National Merit Finalist, all of which are limited to a fixed (and miniscule) percentage of the total number of sophomore PSAT test takers in New Jersey. The sheer number of top shelf high school graduates New Jersey consistently produces every year compared to those of all other states, even other Northeast states, is remarkable. Top colleges all around the country regularly lure a huge chunk of our best graduates out of state to pursue their undergraduate degrees. Why? Because without those top NJ HS grads leavening their incoming freshman class every year the average credentials of their respective student bodies would objectively begin to slip and make them less competitive over time. Is it a really any surprise that many of our high school graduates don’t return after college? It’s actually a yearly testament to the consistently high comparative standards of our best high schools, including RHS.”

ROSELAND NJ, More than 80 percent of 623 certified public accountants polled in June by the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) said they either “strongly agreed” or “somewhat agreed” that student loan debt at $1.6 trillion in the United States is a financial crisis. More than 75 percent of respondents considered student loan debt in New Jersey to be a “major problem.”

Ridgewood NJ, As New Jersey high schools continue to rank top in the nation, legislators are hoping to encourage even better academic outcomes with more emphasis on student health. Given the connection between more sleep and improved academic performance, Assemblywomen Mila Jasey, Valerie Vainieri Huttle and Carol Murphy have sponsored legislation to assess how pushing back high school start times to 8.30am could be beneficial. The bill was given final legislative passage by a 72-0-3 vote in the full Assembly Thursday.

Ridgewood NJ, back up plans were made but the weather held and the Ridgewood High School class of 2019 graduated style .
A reader explained ,” At the RHS Class of 2019 graduation ceremony this evening, the Ridgewood school district superintendent was waxing rhapsodic during his speech, referencing the anniversary of the Greenwich Village Stonewall riots that occurred 50 years ago this month.
He’s in full progressive peacock mode, shamelessly virtue signalling about how far we’ve come as a society. By this time, though, it’s raining pretty steadily, and people are getting pretty impatient with him. Mercifully, his microphone cuts out and he is electronically struck dumb. The assembled audience then starts oohing and aahhing, gaping in awe at an enormous rainbow that has appeared over the entire High School building”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood, one of most successful High Schools in a variety of sports earned its very first-ever state baseball title. The Maroons baseball team won the first state championship in program history by defeating Eastern Regional, 2-1,in the NJSIAA Group 4 final at Veterans Park in Hamilton on Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Senior Sam Favieri started the scoring with an RBI sac fly and finished the game by pitching a perfect seventh inning, for the Maroons . Both Maroon runs scored on sacrifice flies. Favieri drove in David Kleiman, who led off the game with a single. Then later in the drama-filled sixth inning
Anthony Stephan drove in pinch runner Dan Boucher toad the go a head run. Boucher ran for catcher Brian Skettini, who rolled an infield single between the mound and first, then went first-to-third on the pitcher’s throwing error.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood’s Kevin Seitter struck out the side to secure the no-hitter and second-seeded Ridgewood’s third consecutive NJSIAA North 1, Group 4 title, defeating top-seeded Bloomfield 10-0 in five innings in Bloomfield.
Ridgewood’s offense came alive in the top of the fourth. Reed Darienzo and Matt Favieri each got hit by a pitch when Thompson hit a two-out double off the left-centerfield wall to bring in Darienzo. Favieri walked to put runners on first and second for Brian Skettini, who hit a line-drive over the fence in centerfield for a three-run home run to give Ridgefield a 6-0 lead.
Ridgewood then sent all nine batters to the plate in the top of the fifth. Michael Breiter hit a one-out single before advancing to second on a wild pitch. Darienzo drove Breiter in with a single of his own, before coming around to score when Thompson hit a line-drive into shallow centerfield.

‘Ridgewood NJ, in 2015 and 20016 Three federal agencies are teaming up to investigate the safety of crumb rubber artificial turf used in playing fields and playground all across the country,the investigation was the subject of a series on NBC News .NBC reported that the “The Environmental Protection Agency, the Centers for Disease Control and the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced an “action plan” on Friday to answer questions raised about synthetic turf made from recycled tires and possible risks for young athletes.”

Ridgewood NJ, last night as flood waters carried toxic crumb rubber particles off the RHS stadium field ,we noticed something very disturbing , once again the stadium lights were on when no athletic activity taking place .
This is not the first time or the second time , so as a gentle reminder,because some people in town grew up in a barn ,turn the lights off when the fields are not in use .
With a $111,000,000 school budget this open disdain and a slap in the face for taxpayers, as well as being both rude and obnoxious . It is also irresponsible and wasteful .
It is also monumentally hypocritical given the promotion of pseudo sciences like “global warming ” and other faux environmentalism.
