Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and West Windsor NJ,  Ridgewood Crew competed across two states this past weekend, with strong performances Sunday team at the 5th Manny Flick on Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River and two days of benchmark races against some the East Coast’s elite clubs at the Mercer Lake Sprints regatta in central New Jersey.

Spring Forward: Ridgewood Crew Scores Regatta-High 10 Wins at 4th Manny Flick / Horvat Meet

Philadelphia PA,  Ridgewood Crew roared out of the gate this past Sunday in its first competition of the 2025 spring sprint season on the Schuylkill River, winning 10 out of its 15 races. Sunday’s regatta was the fourth in the five-race Manny Flick / Horvat series, which serves as a challenging, weekly tune-up for the state and regional championships later in the season. Each race involves a single trip down a 1,500-meter course, with teams split up into separate flights or heats.

Ridgewood Crew Brings Home Five Medals, Boys Win ‘Fastest Boat’ at the 2025 Haddon Hammer

Westmont NJ, Ridgewood Crew showed off both its speed and depth on Sunday at the 2025 Haddon Hammer, earning five individual medals across four races while the boys team took home the overall ‘fastest boat’ trophy. Also billed as the New Jersey Indoor Rowing Championships, Sunday’s event at Haddon Township High School featured 254 youth athletes from 14 different clubs across the state and represented the culmination of a highly successful winter erg season for Ridgewood.

Lyndhurst NJ, Ridgewood Crew flipped its race-day switch to fast at the 2025 Winter Watt Farm erg race on Saturday. Racing in its home boathouse, the Bergen County Rowing Center, Ridgewood won five of its nine youth events and took home a combined nine medals overall. Both totals were the second-most among the 16 clubs competing. The indoor rowing event, hosted by the Passaic River Rowing Association, featured more than 300 rowers from middle school to masters categories, competing individually on erg machines.

Ramsey, New Jersey – Ridgewood Crew kicked off its 2025 rowing season with a strong team performance, claiming two bronze medals and placing 10 finishers in the top 10 at the 12th annual Ironmen Erg Classic hosted by the Don Bosco Preparatory High School. More than 550 youth rowers from 22 different clubs in New York and New Jersey competed at the indoor event. Ridgewood fielded 46 competitors — the fifth-largest total among all teams — from both middle and high school across seven categories.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew capped off a highly successful 2024 fall season at the Hidden River Chase in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, claiming a gold medal and four top-three finishes overall. At the 4,000-meter event on the Schuylkill River that featured more than 200 boats from over 30 clubs around the region, Ridgewood had the second-highest number of team entries, with 14.

Ridgewood Crew Scores a Silver, Two Other Top 10 Finishes at 2024 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew brought home a silver medal and two other boats finished in the top 10 on Sunday at the 54th annual Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (HOSR) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Run on a 3,800-meter course that twists and turns under four bridges, this year’s Head of the Schuylkill featured more than 8,500 rowers of all ages from 282 clubs across the United States, Canada, and four other countries. Ridgewood sent 26 athletes to compete in 12 boats.

Ridgewood NJ, a club-record 10 rowers from Ridgewood Crew competed at the 59st annual Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, on October 20. 

The Head of the Charles is the largest three-day rowing regatta in the world. This year, roughly 12,000 athletes from 828 clubs and more than two-dozen countries rowed in over 2,600 entries at the event. The HOCR is so popular that teams that have not qualified at previous years’ races must apply and win a draw to get a chance to participate.

Ridgewood NJ, racing on its home river, Ridgewood Crew struck gold and brought home five medals in total at the 21st annual Head of the Passaic Regatta in Lyndhurst, New Jersey on October 13. 

Ridgewood joined 32 other clubs and more than 350 total competitors racing on the 3,700-meter course at the HOPR, which was co-hosted by the Passaic River Rowing Association and Nereid Boat Club.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew’s summer rowing session picked up where its successful spring season left off, as athletes scored standout performances at the Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia on June 29, the Overpeck Summer Sprints in Leonia, N.J. on July 27, and the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in St. Catharines, Canada from July 30 to August 4.

Ridgewood Crew Rows Two Boats Into Top 10 at 2024 US Rowing Youth National Championships

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew capped off its spring sprint rowing season in fine form at the four-day 2024 US Rowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida. Competing on the 2,000-meter course at Nathan Benderson Park in sweltering temperatures that reached the upper 90s each day, Ridgewood joined a massive field of 853 qualifying boats from 224 clubs around the country. In all, the team placed five out of its six boats in the top 16 and saw two boats row their way into the championship final.

Philadelphia Pa,  Ridgewood Crew finished off its regularly scheduled spring season with a standout performance at the 2024 Stotesbury Cup, the largest scholastic rowing event in the country. In all, Ridgewood raced 11 boats and took home five medals — two gold and three bronze — tying for second place overall in podium finishes on the Schuylkill River this past weekend.

performance, sending nine of its 12 boats to the finals and bringing home three golds, two
