Ridgewood NJ, There are new parking regulations in the Village.  At the train station parking lot, twelve parking spaces, which are found immediately on the right as you drive into the parking lot, are reserved for those with Hudson Lot Parking Permits only.  There is signage in place, indicating that these are reserved parking spaces.  Please be aware that only those with Hudson Lot Parking Permits may park in these twelve spaces and those who park there without the Hudson Lot Parking Permit will receive a summons.

On South Broad Street, Prospect Street, and Dayton Street, there are parking spaces which indicate that Interim Parking Permits are required.  These Interim Parking Permit spaces require a permit 24 hours per day/7 days per week and were issued to those displaced from the parking lot behind the Hudson Street parking lot.  Please do not park in these spaces at any time unless you have an Interim Parking Permit or you may receive a summons.

East Brunswick NJ, Following the recent announcement that 8 top NJ Transit officials were offered substantial pay increases, while on-time performance remains poor and commuters are going through their third straight “summer of hell”, Assembly candidate Jeffrey Brown called for NJ Transit executive compensation to be tied to the on time percentage of NJ Transit trains.

Specifically, all non-union NJ Transit salaried employees’ base salaries will remain the same, but they will only receive the percentage of their base salary corresponding to the on-time performance (within 6 minutes of scheduled time) of NJ Transit trains.  Based on numbers from June 2019, this would equate to 90% of their salary.

Reader suggests ,”feel free to drive on over there during the night and take these people to your home for food and shelter. Of course you won’t. It’s something “we” should do”

“Please feel free to drive on over there during the night and take these people to your home for food and shelter. Of course you won’t. It’s something “we” should do. For someone who is retired, I find it remarkable you’ve made it so far and haven’t figured out life’s issues. Yes, there will always be people who fall through the cracks and if we lived in a perfect world, where everyone did their best, was honest, and tried their hardest, we probably could solve all these problems. If Ridgewood started a program to help these people, do you have any idea just how many more would flock here knowing that there’s free stuff to be had? Sorry buddy, but life is a little competitive and it’s that way for a good reason. White privilege guilt is already becoming way too much of a thing with Liberals.”

SUMMIT NJ,  After Gov. Phil Murphy defended raises for politically-connected NJ Transit executives today, Asw. Nancy Munoz responded by criticizing Murphy’s zest for patronage.

“I am afraid that the governor didn’t finish his statements today claiming he is committed to fixing NJ Transit,” exclaimed Munoz (R-Union). “He left out the part that his priority is to help his political friends before helping commuters. That is evidently the case since his tenure has resulted in more cancellations, more worker turmoil, and worse service for commuters.”
