Black History Month Mass to be Celebrated at Newark’s Cathedral Basilica, Sunday, Feb. 25

Newark NJ, The Archdiocese of Newark will celebrate its annual Black History Month Mass on Sunday, February 25, at 2:30 p.m. in Newark’s Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart. This year’s liturgy will feature guest celebrant Father Anthony Bozeman, SSJ, a prolific evangelist who also serves as the academic dean of St. Joseph Seminary in Washington, D.C.; assistant vocations director for the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart; and administrator of Our Lady of Grace Church in Reserve, La.

Cardinal Tobin will also ordain two transitional deacons during a separate ordination at the Cathedral Basilica on Sunday, May 21, at noon.

Newark NJ, High school students across the Archdiocese of Newark were recently recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for outstanding achievement on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in 2021. The PSAT/NMSQT is the qualifying test for entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program.
