Ridgewood Village Hall remains in full lockdown mode

Ridgewood NJ, Village Hall remains in full lockdown mode. Village Manager Heather Mailander estimates that taxpayers MAY be able to enter the building sometime in early July. The installation of sneeze guards at service counters is reportedly underway, but progressing slowly. Building permits are being delivered to applicants outside in the patio area. Police services remain available 24/7 via an emergency phone located at the parking lot entrance to Village Hall.

All Village of Ridgewood Offices and Departments will Continue to be Closed to the Public, until Further notice

Ridgewood NJ, All Village offices and departments will continue to be closed to the public, until further notice.  We have ordered items to provide a safe environment in our Village offices for both Village employees and the public, and once those items are received and installed, we will be able to open to the public.

Ridgewood NJ, Monday, May 25th – In observance of Memorial Day to remember those who died in military service , Village Hall will be closed and sanitation and recycling pick up will be suspended on Monday May 25, 2020, The Recycling Center will also be closed.

Ridgewood NJ, the Village Council’s Regular Public Meeting will be held on April 15, 2020, beginning at 8:00 p.m.  The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube as well as on Swagit on the Village website. Ridgewood  NJ, The Village Council’s Work Session and Special Public Meeting on 4/1/2020 will be held on Zoom.  The public may attend on Zoom audio/video or audio only or may watch the meeting live on television or from their electronic device by live streaming it.  Those attending from the public will be muted during the meeting, except for the time set aside from Comments from the Public, at which time they will be unmuted.  The Village Council meeting will be broadcast live on Channel 77 (Optimum) and Channel 34 (Verizon Fios) and streamed live on YouTube or the Village website, www.ridgewoodnj.net.

Please reserve calls to 911 for emergencies only.  For other than emergencies, you may call the non-emergency number for the Ridgewood Police Department 201-652-3900.

If you do need to call 911 for any Emergency Services from the Police, Fire or Emergency Medical Services/Ambulance, in addition to providing your name, address and nature of the emergency.  PLEASE notify the dispatcher if ANYONE in your home has travelled from Europe or Asia recently or may have been exposed to COVID-19 or is exhibiting flu like symptoms.  This notification will lead our First Responders to taking the proper precautions, prior to arrival at your home.

Updated Timeline for Ridgewood’s New Master Plan

Ridgewood NJ, Prior to our lives changing significantly, we presented the Preliminary Draft of the Village of Ridgewood Master Plan – Section 1: Our Village, Our Future to the Planning Board on March 3 and to Council on March 4 (click here to view a streaming video of the Council meeting; Planning Board minutes forthcoming). Our next internal steps are to prepare the draft for publication to the website, create an online form for receiving comments, and post the draft for you to read.

In the interest of the public health, safety, and welfare of our residents and other persons within the Village of Ridgewood, it has been determined that certain measures must be taken to insure that the authorities will be unhampered in their efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19. Effective immediately, and until further notice, a State of Emergency has been declared within the Village of Ridgewood.
