Ridgewood NJ, There’s no secret to how to get smarter. You read a lot it’s that simple .There’s a whole host of people who have excelled , from Warren Buffett and Bill Gates to Richard Branson and Barack Obama, who will tell you the same thing. In the old days it was often said you can tell the second you enter a room if anyone there has ever read a book before.

A TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY firehouse has emerged from long neglect to become the center of a dispute between development and preservation. At issue is whether the village’s oldest remaining municipal building should be restored, revamped or flattened for downtown parking space.
The three-story red brick structure, barely 40 feet wide, has at various times housed the police station, jail, municipal court and village offices, as well as fire headquarters. But it was built for service, not for style.

Ridgewood NJ, out recent post of confusing signs of dogs are or are not allowed in the park gave rise to several readers sending photos of some strange signs around town .

the fly has noticed Ridgewood councilman, who left the Ridgewood Pride event very soon after it began (and long before the flag was raised on the new pole) , went to the Glen Rock Pride event where he was photographed in a bromance embrace with Hans Lehman, husband of Jan Philips. So nice that this elected official is more interested in the event at another town than the one he swore to represent.

Please. They should be on a timer. Why are we having so many different problems in town. What the hell is going on. It’s amazing. Everything from the lawn not getting cut in town. What is the problem. We can’t even get Porta John’s cleaned out on Maple field. Forget about the lighting. You can’t make this poop up. Well last year the Porta John was over flowing with a duty. Who the hell is in charge.

” So, you raised your children here, got the benefit of an excellent education, a town without metal detectors or gang violence. I assume they got into good colleges. You are living in a house worth probably assessed over $1.6 million. Your taxes are about 60% of what you would pay in most of Essex County. If you work in New York City, there are few towns that provide a better lifestyle with a shorter commute than Ridgewood. We have a great downtown (true, maybe not as good as it used to be, but neither is anywhere else, and I agree that the high parking fees are ridiculous). As for the leaders, they have been elected for issue-specific reasons, but that is the responsibility of the voters (and especially the NON-voters). Ridgewood isn’t perfect by any means, but it isn’t nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. But if you disagree, lots of people are ready to buy your house, which would undoubtedly be priced higher than most surrounding towns, and marketed highlighting Ridgewood’s many amenities and qualities. I hope James’ potential purchasers don’t read his blog entry! “
