Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Walks is an initiative that encourages health and safety by promoting walking as a way to connect our residents, businesses and neighbors in Ridgewood NJ. Throughout the year, RW will host events, such as the first annual Walktoberfest this October, which will consist of a series of guided downtown tours to establish relationships with local business owners and community service leaders. By exploring various aspects and benefits of walking (from medical to commercial, from spiritual to environmental), the group will focus on Ridgewood’s past—and its future—as a walkable town. RidgewoodWalks.com .

Walktoberfest is in full swing. Head to www.RidgewoodWalks.com and sign up for one of over 40 guided, themed, walking tours of the village. Get to know friends you haven’t met yet, and learn more about the place we call home. Together we can build a safer, more connected, and vibrant community.

Reader says When I walk along my lovely village I greet everyone with a smile without thinking what their political view is

Look up Ridgewood FB pages and you will see how some try to rally other residents around liberal causes namely protesting against Trump etc. These people probably don’t need to work for a living and and speak by referring to oneself as”we”. I have a response to such “we” people. Go fck yourself. Do not use public social media pages to try to impose your views on your neighbors. When I walk along my lovely village I greet everyone with a smile without thinking what their political view is because I do not give a shit. You are mean and hateful because irritating your opponents, putting neighbors against each other and trying to make people out of place is exactly what you want. You are a sick and terrible human being, you and all the others who took down the american flags from front of your houses the day after the elections. That says a lot about your kind.
