Ridgewood NJ, no injuries were reported when several bricks from a building facade fell to the ground on busy East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood shortly after 4PM on Sunday, 03/06. Ridgewood firefighters rushed to the scene and quickly removed any remaining bricks that were loose, and cleared roof located debris that then allowed several feet of standing water to drain. A temporary sidewalk “walk-around” was established by Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel, who also assisted Ridgewood Police with motor vehicle traffic control during the incident. Anthony Merlino, Director of the Village’s Building Department, was also on the scene to assess the building’s structural integrity.
