According to Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi yesterday’s , on phone update with Orange & Rockland regarding outages in Bergen and Passaic Counties. Although the response rate is less than optimal for anyone still without power, we have been told that 90% of customers will be restored by Tuesday August 11th. If you have live wires, your street is blocked, or you have a medical emergency necessitating restoration of power please reach out aswschepisi@njleg.org.
As of this morning these are the stats:
326 line technicians on ground
132 are O&R employees
146 are mutual aid
109 more are in transit from other states
There is an outstanding request for 600 additional line technicians
89 tree crews are working but unfortunately only 35 tree crews are working in Bergen County meaning longer restoration times additional technicians
160 tree crews in transit
22 roads have been cleared but 150 roads are still blocked, 10 of which are in Upper Saddle River. Crews are on the ground and are prioritizing road blockages, live wires and health and safety concerns.
There are crews in Ramsey to restore Town Hall and the police department.
As of yesterday there were 117,000 O&R customers without power.
As of today there are 58,000 customers without power.
24,000 customers in Bergen County remain without power
21,000 customers in Bergen County have been restored.
According to O&R
Mahwah – 4,000 without power, 2340 restored
Oakland – 2,900 without power, 2,200 restored
Ramsey – 3,500 without power, 1,100 restored.
We are staying in constant communication to get restoration in Haworth, Closter, Norwood, Demarest, Mahwah, Montvale, Oakland, Upper Saddle River, Ringwood, Ramsey, Woodcliff Lake and Saddle River. As we receive updates we will post them.
