Amazon Plans to Invest Over $1 Billion a Year in Movies for Theaters

Ridgewood NJ, Amazon plans to spend more than $1 billion a year to produce movies that it will release in theaters. It aims to make between 12 to 15 movies every year for theatrical release. US movie ticket sales have dropped by more than 33% since 2019, a year before the pandemic closed theaters. Despite this, filmmakers, Hollywood veterans, and talent representatives are pushing for media companies to embrace the big screen.

Glen Rock NJ, many Bergen county municipalities hosted  a Thanksgiving day run to help residents burn off some of their Thanksgiving day dinner . One of those is the borough of Glen Rock , organized by Racefaster called , 5k Run “Turkey Trot “. Ridgewood Emergency Services added a helping hand through their  Special Operations unit to help out on race day  .

Google’s Top Secret New Project Teaching Artificial Intelligence to Write and Fix Code

Ridgewood NJ, Google is working on a tool that uses machine learning to train code to write, fix, and update itself. The project started inside Alphabet’s X research unit. Codenamed Pitchfork, the project is now part of a new group at Google Labs named the AI Developer Assistance team. Its original goal was to build a tool that could update Google’s Python codebase to a newer version. What could possibly go wrong with that ?

New CRISPR-based Tool Can Insert Large DNA Sequences Into Desired Cells

Ridgewood NJ, MIT researchers have designed a new tool that can cut and replace genes safelt and efficiently. PASTE (Programmable Addition via Site-specific Targeting Elements) can deliver genes as long as 36,000 DNA base pairs to several types of human cells. It works by combining the precise targeting of CRISPR-Cas9 with enzymes that viruses use to insert genetic material into bacterial genomes. In tests, the researchers were able to insert genes with a success rate ranging from 5% to 60% with very few unwanted changes.

Major Crash on Fair Lawn bridge Over Route 208 Injuries Reported

Fair Lawn NJ, three (3) ambulances were observed tending to victims at the scene of a three (3) vehicle, head -on, Thursday night, 11/24, crash on the Maple Avenue, Fair Lawn bridge over Route 208. One (1) victim was wheeled to a waiting ambulance on a stretcher and subsequently transported to The Valley Hospital; all others appeared to have been “walking wounded” and may or may not have required hospital treatment. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Fire Department, Fair Lawn EMS, Glen Rock Police, Hackensack EMS, and Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue responded to the incident, which blocked all traffic on Maple Avenue near Route 208 for an extended period.

Mercer County Clerk Issues Election Statement Following Prosecutor’s Report on Election Night Fiasco

Trenton NJ, Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello issued a statement on the November 8 General Election following the conclusion of Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri’s investigation into the recent Election Day scanner failure. The investigation was aimed at determining whether or not there was malicious or criminal intent to disrupt the conduct of the election. The inquiry was launched after County Clerk Covello requested that the County Prosecutor review the circumstances and report findings of the investigation to the State Attorney General, Mercer County Commissioners, County Executive and Mercer County’s other two election offices.

Violent protests break out at Foxconn’s ‘iPhone city’ Complex

Ridgewood NJ, protests have broken out at Foxconn’s iPhone factory in Zhengzhou. The protests started after workers learned that bonus payments would be delayed. Footage of the protests on social media show workers clashing with riot police and hazmat-suited officials.
