New York NY, in March last year, a KARGU-2 quadcopter targeted and killed a soldier without instructions to do so. The drone was operating in an autonomous mode, hunting down the target as they tried to retreat. It is likely the first time drones have attacked humans without being directed to. Ridgewood NJ, the Northwest Bergen Mutual Aid Association presented the members of B Shift of the Ridgewood Fire Department with a Unit Citation for their actions at a fire in a mixed occupancy in the Ridgewood business district. An occupant of a third floor apartment was trapped by fire. FF Mike McLaughlin was additionally present with a Distinguished Service Award for entering the apartment from the bucket of the RFD tower ladder and rescuing the trapped individual.

Paramus NJ, The impact of a multi-vehicle, early Sunday evening, 05/30, collision on Route 17 southbound near the Garden State Parkway in Paramus sent a minivan careening off of the highway into the front wall of a nearby gas station. Paramus EMS transported one (1) crash victim to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. The victim’s injuries were believed to be non-life threatening. Paramus Police and Paramus Fire Department also responded to the incident.

Glen Rock NJ, residents of Glen Rock who live near the Hamilton School have been plagued by a loud booming noise since early Saturday evening. Glen Rock Police, fire, and PSE&G personnel have thus far been unable to locate the noise’s origin. The noise is said to be loud enough to knock items off of shelves. A single family home on Romary Court is apparently being impacted more so than any other address in the Borough.
