Village of Ridgewood : Winter Storm Parking, Snow Removal and Garbage Pick Collection

Ridgewood Police Snow

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 7:00 pm Friday – 7:00 pm Saturday for Bergen County.  Snow totals may change, based on the track of the storm.  The possible accumulation is 5-10 inches of snow or more, along with gusty winds.  Strong winds have the potential to cause power outages and network damage that could impact power, internet, TV and phone service.

Please keep all cars off of the roads so that our plowing crews can do their work.  Overnight parking on the street will not be allowed tonight, Friday, January 28th and  tomorrow night, Saturday, January 29th. Those who usually park on the 4th floor of the Hudson Street Garage (Gary) and those parking overnight in the Central Business District should park on the 2nd Floor of the Hudson Street Garage so that streets and parking lots can be cleared of snow.

If your looking for something to do , all sidewalks in residential districts must be cleared within 24 hours of the snow falling. Please do not place snow into the street; instead, place it back onto your own property. In addition, if you have a fire hydrant on your property, please clear it of any snow accumulation.

Once the storm has passed, please be sure that there is a clear path to your garbage cans for next week.  If you do not have a clear path to your garbage cans, please place them at the end of your driveway, not in the street, for pickup.

Remember to remove all ice and snow from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows, and roof. This is NJ state law.

  4. 4, inches no big deal.

  5. No major storm in Ridgewood. We got lucky this time

  6. Regardless of the amount of snow, the streets are in horrible condition today. I’m sure the DPW crews were handsomely compensated for their work, but I would give them a C- for the condition of the streets 24-hours after the storm.
