Dear All,
I apologize for being a day late but I was still dizzy yesterday from all the excitement on election night!!!
It really does take a village. I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support of so many residents. There are so many people to thank. Their selflessness and tireless efforts made victory possible on Tuesday night. There were people putting up signs, hosting coffees, sending emails, taking pictures, making videos, cooking, baking, talking, handing out flyers, making phone calls, hosting, printing, and cheering. Too many people to name individually but they know who they are. The results on Tuesdaywas a manifestation of their love for our community. THANK YOU!!!!
I am so proud of our community for turning out to vote in large numbers. Over 5,600 residents took time out of their lives to make their voices heard loud and clear.
Although the campaign was an exhausting and arduous process, I really enjoyed meeting so many amazing people whether I was knocking on doors or simply around town. I would like to thank all the candidates for being professional and cordial through this whole process. I have a tremendous amount of respect and appreciation for anyone willing to offer themselves to serving on the Council. That being said, I would also like to thank the outgoing Council members for their service and for their willingness to help ensure a smooth transition with the new Council members. The work is already starting to take shape.
Looking ahead, I am excited to get to work with some great people on the new Council. I am confident we will be able to work through the numerous challenges, by respecting each other and working through our differences, in order to serve the best interests of the community. Make no mistake, although we all get along, the issues are no smaller today than they were two days ago. But by working with each other, and the community through open and transparent dialogue, we will conquer the issues. We will work diligently to ensure reasonable and responsible progress. It feels great to be part of a great team. I am also looking forward to working with all of our Village officials and employees. It is so important to have competent and committed people working for our community.
Thank you again for all of your support. Thank you for your vote and for bringing me closer to making my vision of Ridgewood a reality. This is still one of the best communities in NJ. Together, we will make it even better. I look forward to listening to you and serving you on the Council.
Best
Ramon Hache
Thank you Ramon. People have a lot of hope that things will turn for the better for our village. I just hope you and the other council members will be able to resist the temptations offered by developers and whoever else wants to use our village for their personal agenda by using their vaste resources. Ridgewood can be great and a unique place to live.
P.S. Hache is the identical copy of the famous Jean Paul Belmondo.
Thank you Ramon. We have great faith in you for bringing normalcy back to our beloved village. Thank you so much for stepping up to,the plate.
At what point does RPD issue a Silver Alert for Rurik…?
I voted for you Mr. Hache, but there are still quite a few of your signs littering the Village. Can you please arrange to have them removed?
Congrats Mayor Hache, looking forward to better governance. Hopefully you can lead us toward reasonable redevelopment of our decrepit CBD after a repeal of 3066, and win property taxes from Valley commiserate with their use of Village public safety and snow/leaf removal on the streets surrounding their properties. I, for one, think it would be great if you could use some of that Valley tax to reduce municipal property taxes for everyone else.
lol, he will not and should not be mayor. Susan is mayor. Might be a good faith deal to have him as deputy though.
I met Ramon in the closing days before the election. He impressed me as genuinely open to dialogue and reasonable. I have every confidence he will learn the ropes of village government quickly and serve us all well. I do not expect perfection-the prior Mayor and his flunkies were an embarrassment to the village residents and have damaged us all. Thank you for volunteering for this thankless, un-paid but essential responsibility for our village.Thank you!
Well said Mike!
Susan should be the mayor and Mike or Bernie should be deputy mayor. It is no favor to put someone brand new in a position done better by someone with experience. (Viz. Aronsohn’s making Weitz the chair of the Financial Advisory Committee upon arrival.) A new mayor and deputy mayor is selected by the council every two years. Susan should by rights have been the mayor last time, if the “most votes” sort-of-rule had been used, but that role and deputy mayor were too important to those then holding them so they forced safari girl to interrupt her vacation to “vote.” Nobody could even hear her. Susan has put up with more b.s. (and that’s putting it nicely) than anyone can possibly imagine. Many people would have quit. It would be very very very sweet to have her running the meetings starting on July 13. VERY. She has earned it.
Agree @ 8:24 and the “most votes” thing only means Ramon could be tops of this three. You can’t compare how many Susan would have received if she were to have run this year.
So it’s do as I say, not as I do all over again then 8:24? Bernie only had the third most votes, so why would she be deputy over Ramon and Jeff? Putting up with BS is no qualification for the role.
Good luck.. Now the signs for all the candidates need to be removed. And now some new residents have the “support teachers” signs up. They are not legal and need to be removed. These new people are turning Ridgewood into ridgefiield with these stupid signs.
What next? Gender restroom signs?.
Just start talking to the workers of the town so you get the right info this time, the last time the village manager swept a lot of dirt under the mat.
Susan should be mayor and Mike or Bernie deputy. Ramon had admitted to being too new to how this works, and he probably can’t devote the time.
Jeff is just probably not the right guy.
Susan and Mike would be fine but Susan and Bernie would be RIGHT.
Susan Mayor
Ramon Deputy Mayor
Ramon, Jeff and Bernie won this election, because of the ground work Susan and Mike did in last two years in patiently exposing the lies of Aronsohn. They need to be Mayor and Deputy Mayor this year. The new 4 year team can have their chance after their two year term.
Jeff has an MBA from Wharton, he’s definitely qualified to be Mayor or DM of Ridgewood
Susan will be a terrible mayor. She says no to everything without even thinking about what it is, and tries to make herself look good. The shortsightedness of Ridgewood residents is disconcerting.
