the Hawin camp represented the worst in politics even in New jersey , a major apology is in order for starts and even then you can hardly expect people to forgive you in the slightest . Forgiveness in any way represents the acceptance of terrible behavior that does not belong here or any where in Bergen County . Hans lehmann must also resign immediately as chair of the Zoning Board of Adjustment ,there is no room for bigots in zoning.
I don’t mean forgiveness. What I am talking about is what I saw at the last council meeting. After it was over a resident who had spoken at the podium walked up to Halaby and screamed in his face asking why he called Knudsen a Nazi. I won’t name the resident but she, the resident, should have been prosecuted for accosting Halaby in that way. That is assault. Verbal assault. Halaby yelled back and someone had to break it up. That is what I am talking about. The person who accosted Halaby is very well-known and is very active in community organizations but that doesn’t matter, she is dirt in my book low class, uncivilized and I will show my derision by never looking her in the eye again, effectively freezing her off.
Mr Halaby through his constant derogatory comments and fallacious attacks on the mayor , has not made to many friends in town , you cant control peoples reactions

I saw the incident being referred to on the Blog. It was Rurik once again who instigated the encounter and it was Ms.Gruber trying to defend herself against his wild rantings. She also tried to insert some common sense and he was not having it as usual. Others of us tried also. It is interesting to note that none of the Harwin
and Willett supporters showed up on election night and no one came to the council meeting last night for the Gay Pride proclamation. This campaign on one side only was terrible and divisive. I’m not over it because now I see even more clearly the harm they have caused in order to win at all costs.

If someone attacked you, or someone you love, so publicly in efforts to win a council seat you wouldn’t fight back? Ellie Gruber has more intelligence, class and dignity in one pinky finger than Rurik Halaby has in his enter body. She is an enormous asset to Ridgewood; Habably not so much. If you were in the room that night, you would have seen Rurik Halaby go after Ellie Gruber and you would have seen Mrs. Gruber stand her ground.

Ellie is more than a good guy, she actually accomplishes good things at a personal cost of time and money. The fact that we could even be discussing this remarkable woman after a terrible campaign foisted on the town by the backers of Harwin and Willett which includes the disasterous Aronsohn and company is the height of irony. If I had to take a guess is this Jeff Voigt on the Blog? He is also a disaster. Things won’t get much better until they are out of the picture.
