CRAB has long outlived its usefulness and veered off into personal politics. This is hardly a group to objectively advise the council. Sometimes a group’s having been in existence for a long time is a reason to end it, not continue it blindly. There is no good reason now for Ridgewood and Glen Rock to be united in this one way and only this way. It’s dumb.

CRAB was created because an African American family’s home was smeared with feces and slurs way back in the early 1990s. It exists because there are bias incidents in this community and many times there needs to be a channel for the community to respond beyond what the police can or even should do. The police need to deal with the aspects that are an actual crime. CRAB is very important for other types of incidents. The only reason it is an official committee is so the politicians can control it. Trust me, you dont want them to be able to create their own committee without approval from the Village Council.
Then write a strong set of rules for it and replace literally every current member. And make it Ridgewood only.
