Albert switches side because he is trying to redeem himself with voters. He is starting to make his bid for re election next year. Notice how low key he has been hoping that voters will forget what he has done. He probably has a running mate already pick out. It is no surprise that he wants to be Mayor. The funny thing is that the same voters that voted for the 3 amigos will vote for Big Al and his new coalition. Right now his buddies Paul is taking all the heat and Al is good with that distraction from him. Don’t be fooled. Al is worse the Paul could ever be. He is a Narcissist and vindictive. So if you don’t want the next four years the same as the last four year then vote and get your family and friends to vote. We must get rid of these three. They are a cancer.
When garage discussion first took place, he said cars will probably not be in use in future, so town should be conservative and careful about building something too big and permanent.
So now the turnaround.
Even at the last garage public forum that was televised he said, a couple of levels can be taken off the garage if deemed too high by residents.
Note the switch.
He operates that way on all issues. Pretending not to take sides and then going for the maximum development for the town; that will effectively turn the village into a city…”.citified” as Vagianos calls it.
Remember folks: Al is a hotel developer. I’ll bet a lot of his hotels are around formerly pristine nature sites.
Big conflict of interest. His heart and soul is with development.
Your right 8:30. Personality disorders aside Albert is smart and cunning.
He doesn’t automatically ascend to the mayors throne. One strong winning candidate for the good guys will eliminate his chances to be elected by a majority of the council to the big boys seat.
Your right 10:38 but let me ask you. How will we know the ‘good guys” candidate. Remember the last election. The majority of Ridgewood voters though Paul, Albert and Gwen where the candidates for the “good guys”
can u say scam.
So 10:13, is Paul, Albert’s Salieri?
Anything is possible when it comes to them.
I love the look on Abdoo’s face….
Would be nice to dig out that cancer for once and for all–no more Amigos or their Amigos. Just five independent minds. That’s starting to sound like Paradise.
He has no chance of re-election
“Just five independent minds.”
Well put, 1:34. That pretty much says it all. FWIW, one result that is supposed to flow from the fact that our municipality was organized under New Jersey’s Faulkner Act in the form of a “village” is a non-partisan Village Council. It is illegal for a candidate for Village Council to intentionally publicize their party affiliation as part of their campaign. The spirit of this law should flow through into the day-to-day functioning and governance of the village. And throughout most of our history as a Village, this was the case. Unfortunately, now that progressives and liberals have hit upon the strategy of politicizing DARN NEAR EVERYTHING in order to keep their political enemies on their back foot (i.e., playing defense), there is hardly an issue or circumstance that pops up in Ridgewood that political operators like the Three Amigos won’t view through a partisan lens and behave accordingly.
The three Amigos clearly have a “pack mentality” that produces the functional equivalent of a formal partisan form of government in Ridgewood. The mayor and deputy mayor are seemingly always on the same page on all issues on the agenda by the time any village council meeting starts. This suggests they are conferring in advance (against the spirit of New Jersey’s Sunshine Law) in order to present a common face, or sing from a common hymnal, at the upcoming public meeting. This leaves only the task of one or the other of the Mayor or the Deputy Mayor making a quick telephone call to Ms. Hauck (once again, violating the spirit of the Sunshine Law) to ensure that a majority three-person voting block is in place that will defeat, at the next public meeting, whatever contrary intentions Mr. Sedon or Ms. Knudsen might have.
With the upcoming election, Ridgewood owes it to itself to elect at least one independent mind to the Village Council to ensure that the mindset of the current “majority” is relegated to minority status, if not excised entirely from Ridgewood’s governing apparatus.
1:48, whoever you are, please run for office! You have my vote.
