I really do not understand why people would feel so depressed over an election. The people spoke and one candidate won. Will this vilified new president really be having such a negative impact on people’s lives? Or is it just like a sport, your team lost a final game and you’re hung over a couple of days! As for myself I enjoyed the election night. Democrats got what they deserved. Their pushy attitude, intimidation of Trump sympathizers (or better said intimidation of those who didn’t like Clinton) and especially the media bias in tandem with the “celebrity” support pushed many independents over the fence. I bet this is what happened to millions who decided to vote the last minute. Don’t blame Trump for winning, blame Clinton and yourself. You pushed many independent people to vote for what they perceived as the lesser evil. In addition the democrats with their stupid agenda did a great disservice to our country by handing full control of our government to the republicans. And this is worrying. However the best outcome is that both parties are in disarray and I hope they understand that they need a major revamp if they want to get the support of the people.
They won’t get all their freebies that Clinton promised them.
Hilarious that the Democrats think that they’re supposed to win every election….
We are sad because the person elected does not share our vision for the country. Everyone feels this when their candidate loses, it’s not some strange new thing. We do blame ourselves for the loss. We are sad because we fear for the environment, for the persistence of sexism and xenophobia, for the loss of health care and other services for our most vulnerable populations.
wow you might need to get a bit informed , perhaps watch at least one different TV station every once in a while
9.54am: What you and most other Dem supporters always fail to grasp is that you can’t have any of that nice other stuff without a solid pro-business climate. You need that engine room to generate tax revenue and jobs. yes, some people get very rich, but these are the people that are the innovators and risk-takers that make life so comfortable for the rest of us.The Democrat Party has been hijacked these past few years by this leftist movement with all their political correctness, hatred of wealth and success, and this belief that you can somehow take from those who work hard and give it to those who do not. If the Democrats have any chance of survival, it needs to be a move back towards the center along the lines of Bill Clinton. The Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders brand is the reason why Democrats lost against a easily beatable Trump and also why they lost both House of Congress.
As Bill said, it’s the economy, stupid. It is not safe spaces, no gender neutral bathrooms and not climate change.
