Reader says Valley has bought influence at every level of government in town.
Don’t be naive people. The only remaining explanation to the surreal proceedings on the Valley expansion is money. Valley has bought influence at every level of government in town. They also have deep enough pockets to be a threat to the town legally if they don’t get their way.
And where there aren’t direct cash transactions, there are conflicts of interest everywhere. Councilwoman Hauck was a Valley Vice President and ran their black tie fundraisers for several years. PB Member Mr Grant works for Turner Construction and only makes a living when projects like this get approved. Councilman Pucciarelli has done work for Valley as well, and while he has temporarily recused himself, he’s making noise about rescinding his recusal .
Do you have proof of this? If you do then put it out in the public domain so we can all know.
Village Council member Gwenn Hauck is a past vice president not of the hospital itself but of the Hospital Auxiliary.
The public record states that Ms. Hauck received a campaign donation of over $800 from the hospital’s PR director, Ridgewood resident Megan Fraser, and her husband, on village council election day in May 2012.
Since Ms. Fraser had been appointed VP for Communications and Marketing at Valley three years earlier, in May 2009, according to the Valley website…

…Ms. Hauck accepted a significant (for a council election) donation from an officer of the hospital.
And yes, she organized major fundraisers during her time on the Auxiliary.
She says she can be objective about Valley’s proposal if the Planning Board votes yes, tossing the decision to the Council.
What do you think?
I think she cannot be objective. She spoke in front of the previous council at the prior h-zone hearings asking that council to vote yes for the expansion. She said the people at the hospital are her friends and she trusts them.
#1. Please attend tonight’s meeting and offer any other believable explanation other than Valley’s having undue influence over the Planning Board.
#2. A Vice President is a Vice President. She worked for them. She raised millions of dollars for them. She ran for office to vote yes on this expansion.
Same chance as a snowball in hell. By the way, didn’t daddy donate something to Valley ?
