Reader says we suffer from the decline in human self-discipline, which has been trending for many years

bankrupt_monopoly

it’s basically the decline in human self-discipline, which has been trending for many years. It can be seen in trends like declining marriage, drug use, babies born out of wedlock, obesity, and an overall growing theme of living in the now rather than preparing for the future. People can bellyache all day about the high cost of this and that, but the average person wastes a lot of money on useless crap. I know it’s easy for me to say this from the anonymity of my keyboard, but I have no doubt that if I took a look into the life of anyone crying broke, I’d find a whole lot of dysfunctional behavior and a series of bad choices

    Agree with this post 100%

  2. Amazing research…..Oh wait, that was just someone’s opinion. Self-discipline? Really?

You believe that poor people make bad choices, got it.

In my OPINION it sounds like a guy who lost his job snd is making 65% of his old salary. At least you know that this is my opinion and not pretending to be anything else.

  3. 6:50 you just don’t get it

  4. As an ex-social worker I spent many hours helping the poor learn what good choices were as far as food values. A young mother with a screaming child would often select the hamburger patties with a pat of butter on top instead of a pound of ground beef. And the stores that are often the only ones available to them seem to prefer to sell such “convenience food”. From that you could infer “that poor people make bad choices” if no one has ever shown them what good choices are. No credit card? weekly, high cost, payments instead. Schools should be forced to include courses on life choices. 6:50 volunteer, don’t just mouth off!

  5. 8:55 = apologist
