Elks club becoming the water works office is really dumb and really sad. Office space is super cheap right now. Go rent some existing office space somewhere. $1.6m to buy the property plus who knows what to renovate into an office is absurd. It is sad to lose a public space like that but it is only made worse when we have to raise taxes to pay for it.
17-210 Award Professional Services Contract – Feasibility Study for 240 Car Parki
Here’s the summer special …these folks are determined to pay some favors to someone
3606 – Water Capital Ordinance ($1,600,000)
Why not put the $1.6 Million towards improving the supply of water for the low pressure areas in Ridgewood where its really needed, as in another water storage tank and/ or water towers. Think ahead in the future with increased population and supply and demand.
Concrete Muni Garages are a market signal that the inmates are in charge..very bad signal in a town with high small business turnover. On west side the entire row of small businesses turned over across from at lease 30 metered short term spots across from bagel store towards the new bank
Take the 1.6 and Pave a few of the worse roads in bergen county
…we are approaching newark NJ quality levels of road surface conditions potholes sinkholes. A disgrace..
The water dept is mismanaged. Leave them where they are, they do not merit the investment.
It’s really being proposed to cloak the future location of the RIDGEWOOD PAC Performance Center pipe dream..
The current VC must be reading the playbook from the last VC. 1) forget buying the Elks and just sell Ridgewood Water to Suez, 2) forget more garagezilla studies, 3) reduce the staff at the breakfast club at village hall to those who actually WORK
Funny this was done on the Elks building when many residents are away down the shore, etc…. reminds of when Pfund pushed through ordinance 3066 in July 2007… what is this Council trying to hide?
In addition to what the other folks are saying about the Elk’s, street conditions, garage etc. don’t underestimate the wireless towers. Wireless towers while improving wireless phone service come with a lot of bad side effects. The radiation (especially for those living close to it) is very dangerous for young children. In addition after installing a tower chances are the providers will add more on top of just repeaters. They can add microwave equipment which is a killer. I know many people are complaining about their wireless coverage at home but the benefit is much less than the damage. Not to mention these towers are an eyesore and tend to affect real estate. When I was looking to buy in NJ one the good reasons to buy in Ridgewood was the lack of wireless towers and high voltage lines.
This VC is obviously blind to this becuase the residents have expressed a need for quality of service. Many don’t even think when they ask for something.
Anyone knows where the tower/s will be installed?
