Well, we can be doggone sure that the three of them lost EVERY vote from the east side of 17, and many votes from the west side of 17. We lost this battle, but we won a war, because this for sure put the last nails in their coffins. They will never get reelected. And don’t tell me the sports people will be out in force. Albano was TROUNCED in the last election, Mr. sports had a terrible turnout .
Any Ridgewood voter living east of Paramus Road would be absolutely insane to cast a vote for either ARONSOHN, HAUCK, OR PUCCIARELLI in the future. This will go down as the biggest screw job in Ridgewood’s history.
That’s gonna have to be a biiiig fence along Rt 17. It’ll look like a driving range when it’s done. And yet again, we plunder green space money for sports fields.
2012 municipal election results District 14 “THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN”
Votes
Pucciarelli 103
Killion 69
Forneza 55
Aronsohn 115
Shnozuka 83
Hauck 84
This was a done deal before the property was even bought. What people need to understand is the way some residents get themselves on committees and boards precisely to do the opposite of what the board purportedly is for.
Despite what the Deputy Mayor said last night, I predict the following:
1) The house will soon be bulldozed to the ground.
2) There will be artificial turf.
3) There will be lights.
4) The property will be clear cut of all trees.
You voted them in ladies & gents of the Salem Ridge area. Now you must pay the price.
The Lawns residents should pay attention to what happened last night because Lower Hawes field was mention. That will be the next target for Fast Eddie and the RBA.
Look at the numbers from yesterday. The Salem folks voted these 3 clowns in.
Never understood why Keith K didn’t get re-elected.
Asinine.

The shaft ?
It’s about time the Salem folks got some skin in the game…all of the noise and traffic associated with the schools, fields, municipal facilities are on the west side of R17….
Looks the ( The Lawns) drank the Kool Aid
And don’t forget the connivance of those schools, fields, municipal facilities are on the west side of R17
Forenza stole votes from Keith K….
Time for a recall.
Did u see in today’s paper where the Mahwah DPW employee that was suing the Twp for $40 million died yesterday…?
There’s a part of Ridgewood east of Route 17? When did that happen?
I could be wrong but Forenza grew up in the The Lawns. He would’ve done better in the election but most folks thought he was going to be a mouthpiece for Valley Hosp.
Killions undying love for Gabbert is why he lost the election.
Yes your right 10:52. We are better off now with this Council and Village Manager.
Mr. Killion lost the election because he refused to lift one finger to campaign and the eager beavers ran rings around him.
Here we go Killion, Gabbert Bush.
Yes I guess your right about campaigning. He didn’t sell his soul to the Chamber, The Developers, The Sports people. The Library or Valley Hospital.
Keith didn’t even take ANY outside campaign contributions. Can’t say that for Aronsohn or Pucciarelli. And Gwenn’s father contributed at least what it cost for that Ridgewood News advertisement.
Keith did not have an undying love for Gabbert. A promise had been made to Gabbert when he was hired that he would get a certain % raise after a period of time. So when the time came for the raise that had been promised when he was hired, Mayor Killion did the right thing (and so by the way did three other council members). This is called honesty and this is called being ethical and doing the right thing. Whether you liked Gabbert or not, this was a deal that was made when he was first hired. Failure to comply with terms of hire is a horribly unethical (dare I say UNCIVIL) action. Aronsohn, on the other hand, is as dishonest and unethical as anyone you could wish on your worst enemy. So we had honest Killion and lost him by 6 votes to Gushing Gwenn. And we have Putrid Paul as our mayor. We were so much better off then.
Come on Keith, run again. You will be voted back into office by a landslide, believe me.
Screwed again by the three stooges.
It seems a shame that the residents on the east side of Rt17 will not have a nice park to enjoy. Also there is the unknown noise factor differential. Were there any decibel studies done? I am a long time west side resident.
It isn’t over yet. in the council’s attempt to put the kabash on the Friends of Scedler’s resolution ,they voted in a resolution that allows for interested parties to come forth with a use for the house and funding options. They accomplished that. While people are disalutioned, the wheels are still turning. Perhaps an ordinance, ” Perserve the Status Quo” which would prevent any destruction of the house and trees before a formalized plan for the property is adopted could be passed or at least argued for. We may have a new council in May which is better in tune with the people. Regarding our former mayor, we would be lucky go have him back and/or Bernie. I can only hope.
I have faith in the stupidity of the majority of RW voters… I have no doubt that if they run, they will get reelected.
5:26 – You are dead wrong. The terrible three campaigned heavily for Mr. Albano and he was defeated heavily, squished under the shoes of the sane voters of Ridgewood. Councilwoman Hauck was seen and heard in the hallway outside the Annie Zusy room talking into her cell phone while the vote counts were being revealed, and she was referring to the ridgewood voters as idiots. They wanted Albano something fierce. Remember, we all just get one vote, so you are wrong, they will not get reelected. No way.
A baseball field? Do we really need another field of dreams?
Tim Cronin (director of Parks & Rec dept) had a specific plan years ago to level the trees. If anything can be done to prevent this it should be done immediately. Could happen any minute if they so choose. Once the old-growth trees are gone the train is out of the station.
No 8:14 but the 3 Amigos need the votes.
If as you claim 1:44 pm, that Pfund, Walsh, Richie and Killian promised to Gabbert when he was hired that he would get a certain % raise after a period of time that promise was unethical and possibly illegal unless it was outlined in his contract with the Village and based on specific performance guidelines.
Considering Gabberts clear and obvious poor management of Village affairs no raise would have been contractually possible.
Killian was so hell bent on getting rid of the previous manager, which he successfully did, only to hire Gabbert with no consideration of his past management of other towns and obvious lack of Civil Service experience. This along with Gabberts “I know it all attitude” cost the Village residents plenty in tax dollars to fix his messes.
Giving Gabbert a raise under those conditions isn’t honesty or being ethical and doing the right thing,it’s elected officials abusing their power and influence to an appointed employee. The fact is the hiring of Gabbert was a disaster and Killian had to do whatever he could to protect his decision to hire him.
1:44, why would a promise have been made to Gabbert when he was hired that he would get a certain % raise after a period of time? That’s incredibly unethical. Apart from the case of CBAs, pay raises promised before someone is even hired are patently absurd. Why would any Council members have promised this?
I’ve never heard of any employer making a job offer promising a certain % raise after a period of time, unless it’s part of a collective bargaining agreement. Perhaps an OPRA request on the contract offer is needed here to clarify if there was illegal activity around this? Raises are awarded after the fact based on managers meeting KPIs, targets and other measurable metrics. If those weren’t made clear and the Governing Body awarded a 12% retroactive pay raise based on a pre-arranged deal, then it’s possible that Municipal labor & hiring laws were broken. This is possibly very unethical and troubling indeed if the comments are above are from someone who was involved here.
