Councilman elect Jeff Voigt
THIS TUESDAY – June 21st – Special Election In Ridgewood. Please Vote NO.
Don’t be fooled by the flyer/mailer from Progress Ridgewood which claims that the new council elect wants you to vote yes. That’s simply not true.
Damned straight !
We don’t need the Gyro Garage !!
Make no mistake about it, I am voting NO.
I trust the NEW council to decide how much money will be needed to provide more parking.
So Jeff says a smaller garage will be built, as per the referendum mandate to build a garage, but Mike says we should study options like turning streets to one way so we can add parking on those streets. Ramon wants an innovative solution. Still no word from Bernie or Sue.
Something FISHY about the LIGHTING at the GYRO garage
I’m a no as well! Father Ron came out with his strongest statement yet in the June 19th bulletin. The outgoing majority has made such a fiasco with all of their lies and misstatements right from the beginning of this. They cannot be trusted. Please vote NO
Make no mistake about it, I’m voting YES.
Enough of you uninformed social gadflys thinking you know what’s best for Ridgewood. ENOUGH.
Jeff looks and sounds like Chevy Chase’s character Clark Griswold in National Lampoon’s Vacation. Hope we have as much fun going forward.
OK 6.24. Loud and clear.. But note ..Jeff has won the confidence of the village ,in fact a confidence the current failed administration has lost a long time ago, Tomorrow we Vote in a new next step and direction for the town.
Take that to Hollywood and deal with It. Resignations please are in order after the NO vote landslide tommorrow.
A “no” vote is a vote for a new direction for the Village? What direction is that? Status quo inertia? The slow rot of complacency that has set in to our CBD and schools? I don’t agree with this garage, but I also loathe your smug attitude. Our CBD is in decline and has been for years. There is nothing worth preserving in the present status quo.
11;11pm i stay well informed and intend to vote no, there is no trust in these liars that have been voted out. Our village manager says we have a surplus of parking so why would one vote for this monstrosity?
Uninformed social gadflys. Hilarious! It is Roberta, Gwenn, Paul, and Albert who get their faces in front of the cameras at every social event. So sick of seeing their faces. The reasonable development groups is not the social gadflys. They are never at the social events. They are with their families, and working to save Ridgewood from this train wreck. Almost there, then we can kick, oh I mean kiss, the four of them goodbye.
Vote NO
I don’t understand the arguments for a “NO” vote. I understand the arguments against Version D. The ordinance doesn’t mention anything about Version D – just the ability to fund construction of A garage. Seems to me you can’t truly be for a parking solution/garage AND voting no… Wouldn’t the vague nature make it just as difficult for outgoing VC to enact Version D?
Garage isn’t getting built in the next couple weeks. Won’t the new VC will have all the power and input they want, PLUS the funding to actually do it?
I have found it very tough to get the truth and REAL answers. Read the ordinance: https://www.ridgewoodnj.net/images/Ridgewood/Departments/Manager/Parking_Bond_Ordinance_3521.pdf
Inform yourself. Form your own opinion. Stop listening to all the “experts” on Facebook.

3:19 & 3:22…Not only is the $11.5 million tied to design D, the current Council has already hired an agent in a no-bid process to solicit bids from construction firms to build the garage. The contract is simply pending funding (ie a yes vote on 6/21). A representative from Desman has indicated that there is a 12% contingency fee to account for design changes. That means that if the funding is passed, any changes to design D will cost an additional $1.38 million. If you add that to the $600k already spent, we are talking about spending $2 million before a single shovel hits the ground. So, no, the new VC will not have the power and input on anything if we vote yes. This is simply one more example of backroom dealings. Ridgewood is much better than that.
4:11pm OK that make’s sense…. Thank you for clearly spelling it out. Seems like everyone talking about all the other related issues (high density, commuters etc etc) and not explaining that if funding passes, contract in hand is enacted, which triggers design D (or can be made law by outgoing VC tmrw) and any changes require an addtl 12%. Those mechanizations are what was not clear to me. Appreciate the clarification
