new “turf tax” ?
by the staff of The Ridgewood Blog
Ridgewood NJ, saying it was an idea previously discussed, although not saying who it was supposedly discussed with, Councilwoman Siobhan Winograd recently spoke publicly about the Village possibly imposing a $10 per player fee in order to establish a “sinking fund” for future use in the repair/replacement of Village owned artificial turf fields. The fee would likely be imposed for players of traveling teams only said the Councilwoman.
Councilwoman Winograd’s comments came during the January 31st Village Council Budget Meeting. Village Parks & Recreation Director Nancy Bigos and several members of her staff were at the meeting and said they’d never heard of such a proposal. Hmm.
The good news here is that if you don’t have child/children who play on a traveling team(s) this will not affect you. The bad news is if you do have a child/children who fall into Councilwoman Winograd’s stated target population, you may need to dig even deeper into your wallet.

The Blog was spot on when it reported her being a gold mine of material. Why doesn’t she just keep her mouth shut?
This is great, I love all the stuff. This is getting to be better than the Sunday comics. Oh yes, you can’t make this shit up.
Ridgewood BOE failed Mrs. Winograd, her math and comprehension skills don’t add up. Please someone share her spreadsheet and numbers. I need to see the breakdown that led her to $10 per player.
Another nail in Baseball’s Coffin…
Wealthy towns have real grass because it is superior and they can afford to maintain it.
The village is so toxic to work at. One Forman said he loves his job. What a ass kisser. He is so full of himself. He makes us sick . What a waste. What a mess. Talk about a waste of money.
This is great news, they’re either going to have to approve a shit load of overtime, I am more employees, or hire a contractor to do all this maintenance. Anyway, you look at it it’s gonna cost a lot of money.
” One Forman said he loves his job. What a ass kisser. He is so full of himself.” Or maybe you are just a disgruntle employee lucky to have a job.
