Ridgewood NJ, A leaking underground heating oil tank required the response of Ridgewood Fire Department and Bergen County HazMat to a commercial structure located in the 100 block of Prospect Street, Ridgewood on Friday morning, 09/28. Fuel oil from the overfilled tank leaked onto the structure’s driveway, down Prospect Street, and into a nearby storm drain. Firefighters deployed absorbent materials to several contaminated areas and blocked additional run off from entering the storm drain. A private contractor was called by the property owned to further clean up the mess.
