Dear RHS Community,
You may be aware that last year the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association hosted its inaugural Homecoming/Reunion Weekend. We endeavored to centralize Reunions to allow for more camaraderie between celebratory classes and offered an opportunity to visit your Alma Mater hosted by current ambassadors on a coordinated weekend. We were excited to make our second annual Homecoming weekend that much more special this October when the classes ending in five and zero celebrated their respective reunions. Unfortunately, the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association has made the difficult decision to postpone Homecoming until the fall of 2021.
Although we understand that this news is disappointing, the Association wants to protect the health and safety of our Alumni. While there have been many disheartening scenarios for so many friends and classmates, we look forward to having an even bigger super reunion weekend next year as the classes ending in zero and five celebrate with classes ending in one and six. Perhaps some classes close in years can even join forces to make their individual class celebrations that much more robust. Given this expanded community of alumni, it is sure to be one of the most memorable reunions ever!
The Super Reunion weekend will be hosted the same weekend next year in 2021. If there is a home football game Friday October 8th, we will kick things off with Friday night lights. During the day on Saturday October 9th, the RHSAA will host ambassador led tours of the High School, with food and fun, and then Saturday night each class can host their celebration.
If you would like to see your personalized alumni brick already installed for this special weekend, please visit our website at www.rhsalumniassociation.org/bricks
If you want to don your special Alumni gear, please order through our online alumni apparel store at www.rhsalumniassociation.org/apparel.
There is no denying that this is an unprecedented time in our world and for the Ridgewood High School community. We all have a key role to play and it’s important to stay united as we work toward building a greater community. To that end, if you would like to make a donation to the RHSAA which directly assists the High School with unfunded projects, please consider doing so at www.rhsalumniassociation.org/donate. We know so many are struggling during this time and your donation can assist keeping the school community healthy and vibrant as they aim to reopen school in September.
Like you, we are very excited to have more “normal” days ahead.
We look forward to seeing you all at Homecoming 2021!
Warmly,
The Ridgewood High School Alumni Association
