Ridgewood NJ, the image may be funny, but the message is not. In an unfortunate political post a Bergen County Commissioner falsely claims county roads in Ridgewood are crumbling due to the Village failing to prioritize and coordinate. Not true.
According to both agencies, Ridgewood and the Bergen County Operations Division, enjoy a productive and collaborative working relationship.
As part of the repaving program Ridgewood designs ADA ramps and provides inspection of all work. County refunds the Village for designs and inspections per a shared service agreement.
Paving CONTRACT 2 was awarded in 2021. Work included the 2021 paving of East Glen Ave (county road) from Paramus Road to Gateway Road @1200 TONS OF ASPHALT
Paving CONTRACT 3 was awarded on June 1, 2022 and includes paving of the following county roads:
– Franklin Ave (Maple to Broad) scheduled to be paved this year @ 1000 tons of asphalt
– Goffle Rd scheduled to be paved this year @ 3000 tons of asphalt
*Ongoing utility work resulted in a paving delay until 2023 for Godwin and Linwood.
– Godwin (Wilsey Square to the Midland Park line) @ 2100 tons of asphalt
– Linwood (Paramus to Maple) @ 3300 tons of asphalt
9400 tons of asphalt for Ridgewood! Now that’s a lot of asphalt!
**2022 Bergen County resolution indicates the commissioner voted to award the $10mil contract. Presumably he also voted to approve the 2021 contract. Perhaps he forgot.

Good, nip that shit in the bud.
By the way, all of the tennis courts in the County Park are unplayable. Been that way for 3 years now. Don’t throw stones if you live in a glass house !
And then we have those complete knuckleheadsTony Damiano and Linda Scarpa claiming that a Halaby OPRA request response indicates that there is no downtown coalition of businesses which is NOT AT ALL WHAT THE RESPONSE SAYS. DAMIANO AND SCARPA ARE BOLD-FACED LIARS. Anyone can look up a OPRA response so why are they so desperate to lie for, and pronate themselves to Weiss and Winograd? Seriously? Does Tony still even own his wretched tchotchke shop?
Well they really have to do something – these roads in town are just atrocious
Wish Susan campaign was more active pointing these achievements out before. She has been attacked left and right about these issues and reacting so late doesn’t help. The propaganda machine of W&W has been strong and the gullible and shallow voters of RW will fall for it. My next door neighbor was set on voting the guy because another neighbor had his sign on the lawn but once I explained to him his record in this town, he changed his mind. There are so many uninformed people around.
