Ridgewood NJ, Mayor Vagianos Constantly Speaks about Civility and Proclaims that in his Meetings there is no Bullying Allowed, We cry BS. At the February 10 meeting, when apparently someone in the audience said they could not hear what was being discussed, Mr. Vagianos chastised the individual for speaking out.  In fact, the mayor seemed very annoyed and was speaking as if to a petulant child.  Seems that all the person was asking for was the right to hear whatever was being said by our elected officials.  No need to be rude, Mr. Mayor.  No need to be a BULLY.

Also at the February 10 meeting some people called in to say things about Mr. Mortimer’s seemingly disingenuous support of turf while he promotes green space and bees.  Mr. Vagianos allowed Mortimer, Weitz, Winograd and himself to defend Mortimer and defend artificial turf. Then Vagianos tried to close the meeting, but Councilwoman Pamela Peron asked to speak (as is her right).  Vagianos said, ok, ok, she could say what she had to say but the turf has already been voted on and they have a 4 – 1 majority in favor of it so could she wrap it up quickly.  BULLYING a council colleague.  In the face of this rudeness, Ms. Peron proceeded to speak her opinion, thankfully.
This is nothing new.  The Mayor has an incredible ability to praise civility while at the same time bullying council colleagues as well as citizens who speak at the meetings or call in.  How does he look himself in the mirror?

  1. And let us not forget the incident in which a citizen was assaulted in the meeting room, and Mayor Vagianos chastised meeting attendees who yelled at the alleged perpetrator, and blamed the woman who was assaulted for triggering the attack by taking a video of the alleged perpetrator on her cellphone.

    1. Any idea when can I drink water from my tap?

  2. Why is there always an issue with this guy with bullying? What’s the other mayor and council handle the contaminated soil at the W. Saddle River Rd. site

  3. Look at those pursed lips…like Pee Wee is pinching a loaf !

  4. He used to go after Lorraine Reynolds all the time. He is such an angry self-righteous man. Makes me sick

    1. He understands.

  5. Kind of reminds me of the Left. The party of peace, tolerance, and diversity, except when the kind of tolerance strays from the approved narrative. Then it’s defriend, block, insult, dox, destroy career, cancel and ban.

  6. He is an angry man. Best was when he was sworn in. His family did not want to join him. They had to be coaxed. And his wife never smiled. She looked abjectly miserable. We know why.

    1. But Josh Gottenheimer thinks he’s doing a fantastic job.

    2. Yes, I also noticed that during the swearing in ceremony. Very awkward, very uncomfortable.

  7. 2 guys w napolean complex

    1. Actually, Napoleon wasn’t even that bad.

  8. If he brings up bullying one more time, I’m going to give him an earful. He’s done almost nothing to quell the fears of residents that were harassed by his friends and campaign contributors over sports fields. It is extremely unprofessional to play favorites when most of Ridgewood either witnessed the harassment or later heard about it.

  9. He needs to get more involved with each department, I will not talking about verbally. We are talking about walking through each department. See what’s going on. See what the apartments need visually, meet the departments when I come into work at 7 AM to start maybe the man council She go to one department a day and bring coffee and butter rolls, that would be good for morale. OK you could bring the manager to

  10. I met this guy one time at his restaurant and he got so mad because we asked for chicken fingers and french fries for my son, and he flipped out. And the place wasn’t that clean either. The best was when his waist pipe broke and the whole basement filled up with duty That was nice, and the board of health looked the other way. Remember that one I do. So many more to come.

    1. Incredible. What a jerkoff he is. And by the way, his cheezy restaurant sucked. Good riddance to it.

This is precisely the kind of story little Josh Gottheimer needs to hear about his greasy pal Paulie.

  11. Following carefully in the steps of Aronsohn, who did precisely the same thing as mayor. Precisely.

    1. He was a huge bully and so is the engineer!

  12. Paul knows this is the near end of his political career, this is it, mayor of small town with soil contamination and dying downtown

    1. What a legacy.

And there’s no shot the PFAS is out of the water supply by the time he retires to Florida.

    2. And undrinkable water and residents who hate him
