Councilwoman has clear conflict
TO THE EDITOR:
Councilwoman Susan Knudsen acknowledged two weeks ago that she had recused herself from further council votes on Schedler Park. She did so through an opaque and nuanced explanation for the recusal and after she voted against the Schedler Park proposal at the Village Council meeting on Aug. 12. That’s a fact.
Councilwoman Knudsen’s conflict is simple; she failed to disclose a personal interest in property adjacent to Schedler Park. In her role as a council member, we expect Councilwoman Knudsen to be truthful and transparent, and not play games on issues that affect the future of our village.
Now that Councilwoman Knudsen has recused herself from any further Schedler discussion at the municipal level, she would better serve all citizens of the village by 1) dropping the deception and 2) assisting the Ridgewood Eastside Development group (RED) in its quest to preserve the Schedler house, which is part of the current Schedler Park development plan.
Finally, Councilwoman Knudsen’s father, Jack Traina, needlessly insulted the other members of the Village Council, see The Record, Aug. 24, at noon, amended at8:20 a.m., same day.
An apology by Susan to all involved is appropriate and warranted.

October 9, 2015
In a letter to the editor written by Ridgewood resident Don Delzio and published in last week’s edition, Mr. Delzio wrote that Councilwoman Susan Knudsen stated during a public meeting that she would recuse herself from “further council votes” and “further Schedler discussion at the municipal level.”
Councilwoman Knudsen made no such statement. She stated that when the village attorney suggested that there might be a conflict that she heeded his advice until such time that the Local Finance Board responds to her inquiry.
The letter also stated that the councilwoman failed to disclose a personal interest in property adjacent to Schedler Park. Councilwoman Knudsen does not own any property adjacent to or near Schedler Park. The councilwoman stated at the meeting that her family member who lives in the vicinity of Schedler does not live in her household. Tax records reveal that her parents own property near Schedler.
The Ridgewood News regrets the errors and any embarrassment or distress it may have caused Councilwoman Knudsen.
Yea correction on 2nd page on the bottom. Why didn’t they put with the letter to the editor section so it stand out.
“The Ridgewood News regrets the errors and any embarrassment or distress it may have caused Councilwoman Knudsen.” To late now the damage is already done. A apology comes a week latter. The Council woman should sue the the person who wrote the letter and the Ridgewood News. ( the Mayor’s new paper now that he lost his connection at the Record)
The newspaper is published weekly. There really was no way to get out an apology and correction out any sooner.
An apology by Don Delzio to all involved is appropriate and warranted.
Delzio is a wild, unpredictable nutcase. He looks like he is hopped up on something, twitching and jumping around in his seat when he attends council meetings. Really pathetic. He makes a sport out of shouting the word FACT repeatedly when he is yelling out non-facts. Everyone sees him for what he is, an uninformed idiot who just wants to still be part of the baseball association. What he did to Susan Knudsen is disgraceful. The apology~correction from the Ridgewood News is not very strong. And worst of all, why the hell didn’t Mr. Transparent Non-Bully Aronsohn speak up against this at the Council meeting. He should have spoken about it at the beginning of the meeting, and indicated that the statements were completely incorrect and that the Council stands behind its colleague Councilwoman Knudsen. Paul Aronsohn, you are a disgrace to your office. Stand up and be a man, why don’t you?
Fixed that Fer ya, Mr. Borg:
“The Ridgewood News readily and eagerly committed the errors, reveled in the embarrassment or distress it undoubtedly caused Councilwoman Knudsen, and, if it gets a half a chance, and if it will increase the chances one or more of the three amigos will get re-elected, will do it again in a heartbeat, journalistic ethics be damned.”
Figures. Loud mouth Delzio has the unmitigated gall to stand up at a Council meeting and accuse another resident of making “fact less and baseless statements,” and now we find out that his letter to the editor was full of blatant lies. And why would he think that Councilwoman Knudsen should be responsible for the actions of her 80+ year old father?.
Aronsohn and his handmaidens go for the kill when anybody crosses them in even minor ways. The marketing efforts to defame non-acolytes have been astounding. This is Aronsohn’s version of big-time politics but it is out of place and sickening here. If I believed in Hell I would be sure they were all going there.
Delzio msde the false statements and he should apologize. What is wrong with him?
10:03 –
You are so right. Remember how someone (????? We know who) contacted councilman Sedon’s employer to kill his candidacy? They stop at nothing to trounce whoever gets. In their way.
HAuck is on the campaign trail( to nowhere). She is marqueeing Paul, Albert, and herself at the shining (dim) lights of the Village Council. She Padres to senior citizens with her gratuitous and sappy claim to be their leader and advocate. She embarrasses herself and the Village.
Delzio should have apologized to Knudsen already for his stupid and bogus letter to the editor. Probably the rbsa should apologize since delzio is board member even though he doesn’t mention. surprising if Albano rbsa didn’t know about the letter to editor before it was published. terribe the jerk calls her untruthful or deceptive and I wonder how this got passed rifdgewood news scrutiny. Guess this is as close to an apology as the ridgewood news could get to avoid legal culpability.
1:28 pm – Delzio should apologize. If he did one right thing in his letter, it was that he didn’t mention the RBSA. The RBSA has nothing to apologize for, and you shouldn’t drag Albano’s name into this. That is ALMOST as unfair as what Delzio did.
Is Delusional, I mean Delzio…the out of control guy at every Council meeting? He does owe a public apology to Susan Knudsen and the resident he yelled “fact-less” to. That resident cracked open a can of worms, exposing Village Manager and Council. ??
7:38 – we shall see if the RBSA is blameless. Waiting to see who is on the donor list for the Schedler grant. Hmmmmmmm…….all has yet to be revealed.
Delzio is another RBSA zealot……
My neighbors have no idea that these sports associations are out of control. They will find out soon I fear.
