Ridgewood NJ, (So-called adult) supporters of the opposition continue to steal Knudsen and Van Goor lawn signs from their fellow Ridgewood residents’ property.
This suggests that their candidates are desperate…and pathetic.
This behavior is not merely juvenile; it’s a crime, intensified by involving a public election. The theft of a campaign sign can be prosecuted under the general theft statute of New Jersey’s code of criminal justice. Since the general value of the campaign signs is under $200, the crime is considered a disorderly persons offense in New Jersey. Generally, incarceration for this offense can be up to six months in jail and fines can be up to $1,000.
Fine example for the kids, too.
Maybe they don’t realize that some people have exterior cameras. And look out their windows.
Just vote for whomever you please, and cut it out.
Stealing campaign signs isn’t a prank, it’s a crime — even if it’s hard for cops to prove

what about removing signs illegally placed on village property?
Do these crimes fall under the “Catch and Release, No Bail” laws or does it depend on which candidate’s signs you steal?
Asking for a friend.
Why are there Weitz and Winograd campaign signs illegally on the Ridgewood grass middle median strip on Grove Street before Paramus border? The signs are a drivers distraction there.
That median strip was installed as a “traffic calming”, and landscaping shrubs, trees planted there, with a “Welcome to Ridgewood” sign. Weitz and Winograd supporters have no respect to the rules!
The illegally placed campaign signs should be removed, and candidates of those, be fined for them.
Just a small taste of what is coming if either win a seat…..lots of chaos
