Ridgewood NJ, President Donald Trump has signed a sweeping executive order aimed at eliminating what the White House calls “radical indoctrination” in K-12 education.
Key Takeaways from Trump’s Executive Order
The order, signed Wednesday, directs federal agencies to develop an “Ending Indoctrination Strategy” that will halt federal funding for any programs promoting gender ideology and discriminatory equity ideology in public schools.
A Strong Stance Against Political Indoctrination
The executive order states:
“Parents trust America’s schools to provide their children with a rigorous education and to instill a patriotic admiration for our incredible Nation and the values for which we stand.”
However, it goes on to criticize current educational trends, claiming that:
“Parents have witnessed schools indoctrinate their children in radical, anti-American ideologies while deliberately blocking parental oversight.”
Trump argues that K-12 schools force students to adopt identities as either victims or oppressors based solely on race, gender, and other immutable characteristics.
Concerns Over Identity-Based Teaching
Critics of modern educational policies have pointed to classroom materials that categorize students based on privilege and oppression.
- Seattle Public Schools, for example, has distributed “social identity wheel” handouts asking students to reflect on their privilege in areas like race, income, mental health, and religion.
- Federally funded equity training sessions have also used charts that classify people into groups based on privilege or oppression.
Investigating Federal Funding for Gender & Equity Ideologies
The order requires the Education, Defense, and Health agencies, along with the Attorney General, to:
✔ Audit all federal funds that may be supporting gender ideology or discriminatory equity ideology in:
- K-12 curricula, teacher training, employment, and certification programs.
✔ Develop strategies to prevent or revoke federal funding for schools or districts engaged in such teachings.
Reinstating the 1776 Commission
The order also revives the 1776 Commission, a patriotic education initiative originally launched by Trump in 2020. The commission’s goal is to promote an education system that focuses on American history, values, and civic pride, rather than ideological frameworks like Critical Race Theory (CRT).
What Happens Next?
The federal agencies involved have three months to submit their plans to eliminate federal support for controversial educational programs.
The executive order is expected to spark significant debate between supporters of parental rights and advocates for progressive education policies.

Uh oh, two articles in the same day. Walls are closing in on RPS.
Why is “asking students to reflect on their privilege in areas like race, income, mental health, and religion” such a terrible idea? Shouldn’t everyone be self-reflective?
Maybe if certain races stayed in school and out of jail, their incomes would be higher. Maybe if jackasses didn’t tell their children that they could choose their sex, their mental health would be better!
Because it’s not about self-reflection it’s about division, guilt, self-hatred and demoralization. That’s why.
Your first clue should have been that the entire concept wasn’t conceived of by dirt farming proles but instigated and institutionalized by extremely wealthy and pedigreed individuals who would never dream of giving up their privilege to lord it over all of you.
This is the correct answer.
Go directly to the source of CRT.
Resources need to focus on reading, writing and math
100%!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to listen to a DEI podcast while I fold my laundry.
What privilege? Someone else’s idea of what another’s privilege is or isn’t is subjective and therein is the issue of ‘what is the agenda?’ Schools should be focused on education. Maybe that’s another reason why the education in America has deteriorated on the world stage. Kids are coming out without grade level learning. It is a shame to waste these young lives who cannot do the basics of math, grammar, comprehension but know all the 72 pronouns of how to address someone – this is ridiculous.
Black history month should a thing of the past! Not the present or future. BHM causes division, hatred, victimization. This is 2025 lets all join the human race as one!
Common sense has to be ordered by the president of the United States? Thank god Trump did it, but it’s sad for our society that he had to do it. This evil racist CRT and DEI garbage is over. Make America Great Again!
Check those 5th grade health class syllabus folks. Zero chance I was letting junior listen to a state employee tell them what was in that curriculum – and I’m on the west side!
God help those kids at Sommerville with their new DEI Chairperson. I imagine they want to turn out as many as they can.
