the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Recently, Ridgewood was ranked #7 among the nation’s safest and wealthiest towns, a point of pride for the village manager. However, many residents feel this optimism is out of touch with the realities on the ground. Ridgewood faces environmental challenges, including hazardous contamination in three locations and water quality issues, with the highest PFAS levels in Bergen County, putting NJ to rank fourth nationwide.
Further concerns include ongoing NJDEP investigations, low employee morale, and the highest tax increase in decades (2023). Additionally, the village’s reliance on bonds for financial projects has raised eyebrows, with critics calling it a dangerous practice aimed at avoiding fiscal crises rather than addressing long-term sustainability.
Despite the accolades, these issues suggest a need for greater transparency and realistic problem-solving to match the town’s reputation with on-the-ground realities.

Unbelievable! What a pompous ASS! He didn’t even think to thank our local Police, Fire and First Responders. Thank you to all those that keep us safe!
This guy can’t help himself, he’s an attention-seeker starving for “likes.” There is a Village of Ridgewood page. Why isn’t the information circulated there?
That website is horrible. A school kid could a much better job. They have spent thousands on it and God knows where money is going.
I guess the Village Manager is banking that residents won’t read the disclosure.

Here is the link to the “article,” it’s a clickbait site. And yes they target wealth between its residents and riddle the article with affiliate links. Hardly paints an accurate picture.

How much are we talking? Seems like every public meeting is approving another bond. What happens when that bubble bursts?
Yup. Keith Kazmark recently pushed a 350k bond for a 58k project. He claimed the difference was just a safety but would most likely not be used. Well guess what, within weeks the entire amount was absorbed.
He just wanted to be prepared is what he said and the council, knowing that expenses were going to be coming, did nothing to put this into the budget on purpose to keep taxes “low” as Winograd states in her checklist. Typical bait and Switch.
Vote No to Vagianos!!
350 thousand for pavilion at Habernickel and 58 thousand for the new playscape. Is that what those numbers above are for?

What you talking about Willis? Former Mayor of WP a leader of environmental integrity. How can this be and why would he not fight to do the right thing considering he is a REAL village manager.

Read it and weep. He’s an accomplished young man.
Unfortuantely at a salary of over $300K annually, one cannot rest on their laurels.
Given the very serious issues plaguing the village today, we have to take a results oriented approach. Happy to understand what he has “acccomplished” in a year’s time. I’ll wait.
Which amounts to what exactly for Ridgewood except take oucrures if himself and call balls and strikes.
The Village Of Ridgewood is a joke, we wonder who’s conducting the ratings

Can the village manager get the bus depot cleaned. We just picked up my daughter and the place was pitch black. In side and out, just ridiculous. She felt very uncomfortable waiting there. I told her to get out of here and go to one of the bars where it’s much safer . We told her don’t stand there in the dark , what bullshit’
Won’t get done until you have a slew of complaints and bring in legal. Otherwise he does sh**. He is reactive NOT proactive!
