Ridgewood NJ, “I expected it,” Village Manager Heather Mailander said of the three-month pilot program at a meeting last week. Ms. Mailander denies she ever said this about the $23K loss associated with the pilot centralized valet parking program. Questions arose when Resident Boyd Loving asked ,if you knew it would fail why do it ? Loving suggested in the future that if somebody expects to lose money lets stop before we move forward with it.
This is an examp,e of Voigt’s reporter friend effing up. Yes, she did say that exact quote. But not in that context. Per usual this two-bit reporter grabbed a random quote, took it out of context, and wrote a completely misleading article.
Agreed. After reviewing the meeting video, Heather clearly didn’t say “I expected it” in reference to anything other than what the busiest times of the month would be as related to parking.
This $23,000 loss will seem like winning the lottery when compared to the MASSIVE LOSSES that will be incurred if a MASSIVE GARAGE is built
A revised version of the article now appears on northjersey.com.
