Ridgewood NJ, This is a reminder that Stage II water restrictions remain in effect for the last 15 years.

Odd-numbered addresses may irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays only.

Even-numbered addresses may irrigate on Wednesdays and Sundays only.

No irrigation is allowed on Mondays, Thursdays, or Fridays.

Irrigation shall be performed before 10 am or after 6 pm, to limit evaporation.

EXCEPTIONS: Irrigation is allowed any day (within time restrictions noted above) if utilizing a hand-held hose or drip irrigation, or if a smart watering exemption is obtained from the office of Ridgewood Water.

The restriction level is at Stage II because in the summer water is consumed at a greater rate than the Ridgewood Water supply system can sustain, thus reducing the amount of water in reserve for firefighting and other emergencies.

Compliance with the Stage II restrictions will reduce the likelihood that more severe controls will be needed. We thank our customers for their understanding and support.

This ordinance became effective on May 2, 2017 and applies only to Ridgewood, but it is expected that the Boroughs of Glen Rock and Midland Park, and the Township of Wyckoff will enact similar rules as they have in the past.  Below is the approved ordinance.

To report non-compliance watering, please email reportwater@ridgewoodnj.net or call 201-670-5520.

  9. Ridgewood has become the joke of Bergen County.

The school system is sub par compared to decades past with a focus on social initiatives rather than academic excellence.

The roads and town services show no pride in execution or maintenance.
The roads are a disgrace; the water system is anti-resident; etc.

The CBD looks tired, worn and decayed.

The garage and low income housing brings us one step closer to Patterson.

The independence and uniqueness of the village is largely gone.. it’s merely a shadow of its former glory. We are no longer a shining star or a leader in Bergen County.

The only thing Ridgewood is good for lately is to be the wallet to be picked by neighboring towns and special interests.

  12. I have written reportwater@ridgewoodnj.net and 201-670-5520 on a piece of paper and put it up in the kitchen. I will not hesitate to report any off-time watering that I see personally. It’s hard to comply with these rules; other people’s attitude and behavior make it hurt more. Whether the water dept. will follow up on complaints remains a question. I’d like to see one clear warning followed by enormous fines plus neighbors seeing police talking to the owners over and over.

  13. @taxpayer. Make it vibrant? You mean like NYC where they’re coming from? You mean killing trees because the tree guy told them the tree may tip over and kill the house and it is a pain to deal with leaves in the fall, vibrant like in having 2-3 dogs that bark day and night, vibrant like in pushing rainbow flags over american flags and pushing social campaigns like crazy nuts, vibrant like in telling the old timers who lived in peace for so many decades that they can leave town if they don’t like it, vibrant like in screaming against blue laws because they feel much better spending the god given sunday in a crowded mall than in a piece of heaven and so much more. This is the crowd that’s making this town “vibrant”. Oh and by the way Ridgewood is gone. The avalanche of destruction has taken over and there’s nuttin stopping it. Enjoy the vibrations.

  15. Poor management. Sell it. Village has no business running a business because it is not capable of doing so. Sell the garage with it!

  17. @taxpayer proves my point.
Ridgewood is good for lately is to be the wallet to be picked by neighboring towns and special interests.

She even identifies herself as @taxpayer, not something like @RidgewoodProud or @BestTownEver.

See, even @taxpayer knows, at least on some level, what her identity is… a big cash cow for the rest of the world.

    what a clueless fool.

  18. What a crew they have . Cutting each other’s throat’s. That place is so toxic.

  19. What’s going on with Godwin av. That road is a disgrace.

  20. I remember Ridgewood water 25 years ago and the water was great you couldn’t stop drinking it. Today with all the chemicals they must be putting into the system it’s horrible. That’s too bad

  21. My family and I drove through Ridgewood today and all I can say is oh my God. So many roads are destroyed, all the buildings in the down town, We couldn’t wait to get out. We went for dinner. In Glenrock in stead,
