…the fly has learned that Robert Greenlaw former Director of Emergency Management, Director of Emergency Services and Director of Northwest Central Dispatch who now lives in Ohio has been seen in Ridgewood recently.
Speculation continues to swirl in certain groups that Mr. Greenlaw is being interviewed by the current Council for the position of Public Safety Director. This after the skyrocketing Police and Fire overtime, compensatory time, sick time and vacation that the current Police and Fire management are unable or unwilling to control. Mr Greenlaw who is also know for is organizational skills and his ability to recruit volunteers may be asked to combine redundant equipment and services of the three dept.
He also may be asked to recruit or combine the Emergency Services volunteers into the Police and Fire ranks to reduce cost. This in light of the newly elected Council member call for lower taxes and reduced cost.
Talk about saving money I wounder they don’t close that old fire house on Glenn after all the main fire house is only 800 ft away. Paying to maintain that old house and the cost to heat and cool it must cost the Village a lot of money. Selling the land would put money back in the budget.
Ok, I’ll bite. What is Paul’s connection to Greenlaw?
Did Bob Greenlaw himself submit this?
Is Mr. Greenlaw even qualified for this position? Wouldn’t it be difficult for a person not certified in either the police or fire field to command? e wouldn’t know what is required of either.
I was told that there were several closed door meetings prior to the installtion of the Dream Team. Look for two parking garages; a possible land swap; sale of public land to finance the whole venture. Throw in the three housing projects and a big box store on Cottage and presto chango: the CBD will be transformed. Oh and catering venue on Linwood… More to come…stay tuned.
Mr. Greenlaw does not have to be certified in the police or fire field. His position is simply civilian oversight of cost and management. Something we need in a closed society such as police and fire dept. where the same mistakes are just promoted through the ranks until the become chief
Sounds like good cost saving measure saving money on fire and police administration. Has the Mayor’s Tiger Team vetted this? If not hey should. Riche has the Greenlaw connection. Cut management and save union jobs…
What is the Mayor’s ( Tiger Team) ?
Look at how greenlaw keeps reinventing himself.
