“Cash in App” Feature Allows Customers to Use Cash at Participating Retailers to Load Value for Purchasing NJ TRANSIT Mobile Tickets

Ridgewood NJ, NJ TRANSIT is bringing the convenience and flexibility of its Mobile App to more customers with the introduction of a new cash payment option. Customers who prefer to use cash or don’t have a debit or credit card can now take advantage of all of the benefits of the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App with the new Cash in App feature. Customers can utilize more than 1,000 convenient participating network retailers in New Jersey like 7-Eleven, Walgreens, CVS, Family Dollar and more to convert cash directly to digital balances in the NJ TRANSIT Mobile App which can then be used to purchase electronic NJ TRANSIT tickets and passes.

Trenton NJ, Senator Steven Oroho and Senator Joe Pennacchio will introduce legislation protecting the right of New Jerseyans to buy and use gas stoves and appliances.

“We can’t let President Biden or Governor Murphy ban affordable energy choices while New Jersey families are struggling with soaring prices and inflation,” said Oroho (R-24). “We certainly don’t need Democrats in our kitchens dictating how we cook our dinner. It’s big government overreach that we need to stop.”

New Jersey Film and Television Industry Shattered Records in 2021

Westwood NJ, Film and television production in New Jersey shattered all previous records in 2021, with the industry spending more than a half of a billion dollars in the state and creating more than 5,500 jobs.

The annual report released by the state’s Film and Television Commission this month shows the industry bested its previous spending record by nearly $80 million. In total, New Jersey was home to 725 productions in 2021, including 68 feature films and 132 television series.

NJ Transit Explores “equitable transit oriented development” along Proposed 9 mile Extension of Hudson-Bergen Light Rail

Englewood NJ, NJ TRANSIT has been awarded a $592,000 grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to study equitable transit oriented development (TOD) along the proposed nine-mile extension of the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) into Bergen County.  The comprehensive plan will build on efforts to establish neighborhoods and employment centers along the corridor and provide a framework for coordinated actions, creating a blueprint for success for all stakeholders.  The extension of the HBLR into Bergen County, known as the Northern Branch, will further NJ TRANSIT’s 10-Year Strategic Plan goals of powering a stronger and fairer economy and promoting a more sustainable future.

Ridgewood NJ, “Woke” darling Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of shuttered blood testing company Theranos, was sentenced to 135 months, or 11 1/4 years, in prison on Friday for defrauding investors. The sentence falls short of the maximum possible punishment for Holmes, who faced as many as 20 years in prison. Holmes has been ordered to serve three years of supervised release after the sentence. Holmes offered a tearful apology before the judge issued the sentence, quoting the poet Rumi, “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

By July, more flight cancellations had occurred thana there were throughout the entirety of 2021. The Department of Transportation has said airlines should bear the brunt of the blame due to flight overscheduling, followed by confusing guidelines on compensating passengers in refunds or vouchers for these inconveniences.
