Ridgewood NJ, When it rains, it pours! Ridgewood Police Patrol Officers Kyle Monton and Kyle Scarpa responded to multiple reports of ducklings trapped in storm water catch basins throughout Ridgewood on Monday evening, 06/22. Here, the two (2) officers worked to free a duckling that got stuck in a catch basin located on Kira Lane, Ridgewood. Mama Duck was quacking loudly nearby until Officer Monton released her young charge out of his hands. All in an evening’s work for Ridgewood’s Finest!

Revised Figures Show One In 10 Nursing Home Residents in New Jersey Died from COVID-19

Ridgewood NJ, More than 100,000 people are now dead in the United States because of a virus no one had heard of before late last year. This microscopic pathogen COVID19 brought life and lives to a halt.
The most important and ignored Coronavirus statistic is that 43% of U.S. deaths are from nursing homes . That means  2.1 million Americans in Long Term Care facilities , representing 0.62% of the U.S. population, account  for 43% of all deaths due to COVID19 . In Ridgewood alone suffered 35  deaths from COVID19 and 28 were in Long Term Care .

Ridgewood NJ, On Sunday 4/5/2020 there was a major structure fire at Bagelicious in the central business district and thankfully firefighters were able to rescue a resident that was trapped in their apartment and they are going to be okay. In the midst of this large scale event, water was flowing into the basement of @ridgewoodcycle and once this was realized firefighters were able to mitigate the problem and get the water out of their basement.

The decision to reopen will be based on careful discussion with our public health and safety experts, and with our educators and districts. We will be guided by facts on the ground. “

Victim Transported to Valley Hospital with Non life Threatening Injuries after East Glen Crash

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood EMS, a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital, and Ridgewood Police operated at a rollover motor vehicle accident with entrapment in the 600 block of East Glen Avenue, Ridgewood on Wednesday afternoon, 02/19. One (1) driver, an adult female, was transported to The Valley Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Another injured individual refused medical attention at the scene. Two (2) vehicles were totaled in the crash and removed from the scene by separate tow trucks.
