Didn’t the Council Idiot Siobhan Winograd state emphatically that the soil would have to be “fluffy” in order for testing to begin? It rained this week, did it not? More misinformation from the dais.
Neighbors should be happy that contaminated soil, if found, will be removed from their neighborhood.
And then let’s get going on this project.
Really so neighbors should be happy that their wells will be contaminated by cancer causing chemicals from fake fields? Do you think before you put out your thoughts?
The council did nothing to initiate the NJDEP mandate requiring that the soil be tested by an independent source for evaluation. If Ridgewood is not under the microscope, they should be because this could have gotten swept under the rug like all of the other things that get hidden and concealed from view.
Zero chance the NJ DEP does not find problems (unless they are bribed).
No, not a bribe.
Pee Wee can make a small loan … at 10% interest.
Wasn’t PFAS Paulie an environmental lawyer? I would be willing to bet that he drives on over to have a little looky loo and assess the sitch at Schedler. So glad the NJDEP got involved. All of these council guys and the village staff knew about the illegal dumping and yet council was willing to put that field in without proper testing. Shameful.
or invite them to his restaurant for a wine tasting and a gyro.
Did they test the soil at Habernickle ? Isn’t there a garden there that people eat out of…now with the barn gone that had farm equipment, animals and an infestation, shouldn’t that soil be tested too?
Good point about Habernickel. There was a rodent infestation and any herbs or plants growing in the Healthbarn garden should be tested. rodents like to burrow, so that soil should be tested too!
I would be concerned if I used that garden or dug and ate from the ground at Habernickle park. Yikes
What were the dates that the dirt berm was built at the west saddle river rd land.
Let us not forget that a resident who had visited the Schedler historic house said that there was black mold in the basement and he was very concerned about anyone going in as they could get sick because black mold is very toxic. Might be worth mentioning to the NJDEP when they go over to the property.
I wonder if there was black mold, lead and it was told to us of an infestation at Habernickel stable. But then they just knocked it down . Don’t little kids dig and eat from the garden over there?
