Ridgewood NJ, Does anybody think it’s a good idea to ban single use, sanitary plastic bags and replace them with reusable bags that will carry the coronavirus? Maybe these politicians and people who are on the plastic bag bandwagon should get off it and think about what’s best for the community.

  1. Virtue signaling has a cost. That cost must be paid. It shall be paid by the unwashed masses. So mote it be.

  2. You can still use paper bags if you don’t want to use reusable fabric bags. Unlike plastic bags, they are less likely to carry viruses, are easily disposed, break down into reusable organic material, and if you’re really concerned about Covid virus on them, they can be disinfected/dissolved in a mix of soap, water & a few drops of bleach. When dry toss in garbage.

  4. Paper will carry twice as long as plastic…
Where are you getting this info ?
And WTF is going to soak their paper bags?
In bleach no less! Very environmentally friendly!
You can’t make this crap up people….

  5. Paper bags buried under tons of other garbage do not decompose at all. No oxygen and no sunlight means these paper bags will be preserved intact for thousands of years. The commenter is *out*to*lunch*.
