Ridgewood NJ, a mechanical malfunction may have caused a vehicle to slide partially off a flatbed tow truck on Thursday evening, September 12, as it was being towed through Ridgewood. The incident occurred when the tow truck made a turn from northbound Paramus Road to eastbound East Glen Avenue.
One of the vehicle’s owners reported that the car had become disabled due to a dead battery, leading to the initial tow. As the tow truck turned, the passenger vehicle slipped from the steel bed, tilting precariously. A second flatbed tow truck was dispatched to stabilize and right the vehicle, allowing the tow to continue.
Although minor damage to the vehicle’s underside may have occurred, no injuries were reported. Ridgewood Police Department was on the scene to investigate the incident and manage traffic control.
