Ridgewood NJ, the Valley Hospital Emergency Department is actively treating patients with emergent medical issues who require immediate medical attention. To help us better accommodate these patients, we ask that unless you are experiencing symptoms that warrant immediate medical attention, please do not visit the Emergency Department to request COVID-19 testing. If you are concerned about your symptoms and would like to request a visit with medical provider, please call 1-800-VALLEY-1 (1-800-825-5391).

Virtual visits or in-office care are available depending on patient need. To access a COVID-19 test, please visit https://ow.ly/Kiq550HkrHJ to locate test sites and free public testing in your area. Using this link, you can also order a free salvia test from Vault Health that will be shipped directly to your home at no cost. We appreciate your understanding as we work to serve and care for the community.

State Senator Holly Schepisi also reminded people in a Facebook post :

I know a lot of people have Covid PTSD from the past two years and yes Covid can be serious as I know from personal experience being hospitalized with the Delta variant in March. However, if you have a stuffy nose, are sneezing or have a sore throat DO NOT go to your local ER. If you are just trying to get tested DO NOT go to an ER. Our hospitals are being overrun by people panicking because of mild symptoms that could be anything from allergies to the common cold to a mild case of Covid. Let people actually in need of emergency services get treated and please don’t show up because you can’t find a test or you think you may have it. If you don’t feel well just use common sense and stay home until you feel better.
