Fair Lawn NJ, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department , Monday started out with an accident on Broadway East / FL Parkway. The operator driving this blue BMW struck another vehicle in the intersection. Instead of calling the police to report he was in an accident (yes you’re supposed to do that) he attempted to negotiate with the driver of the other car and then paid up with counterfeit U.S. currency.
Shortly after, the driver and passenger fled on foot when they heard we were coming. They ran into Saddle Brook where they were apprehended a few blocks in. 98.5 grams of assorted marijuana was taken into property. Both suspects were charged with counterfeiting and driver had multiple motor vehicle summonses which included an open container. No charges for the marijuana was issued. All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
