Village Council members just agreed to introduce and approve an ordinance in the very near future that will prohibit the establishment/operation of any business engaged in the cultivation, manufacture, sale, or delivery of cannabis products anywhere within Village limits.

If the Council does not take such action by August 21, 2021, any class of cannabis establishment or distributor will be permitted to operate in the municipality, and depending on the type of establishment, be considered a permitted use in certain zones.
Council members expressed concern that allowing cannabis businesses to operate within Village limits could result in increased crime rates and “nuisance gatherings.”
The good news for Ridgewood’s many recreational cannabis users is that Village officials cannot prohibit the delivery of cannabis items and related supplies by a delivery service within Village limits.

  4. Let’s remove the Ridgewood is Stigma free signs.. when will the powers that be realize, let them operate but subject to a municipal operational tax.. you could tax 50% and it would still be a gold mine.. start looking for other sources of revenue before it’s too late.

  12. So, we can sell booze but not pot. Ridiculous.
Best idea would be to open a dispensary on south broad street near the parking garage, might help fill that monolith up.

  13. Do some research people. Alcohol is far more dangerous and yet we have liquor stores. Makes no sense.

  18. Just because alcohol and driving while texting are dangerous, that does NOT make it fine to add another distraction and danger to the mix.

  19. “Alcohol is more dangerous than marijuana”

Time to retire this trope (along with the “medical marijuana” scam).

They’ve served their purpose… the legalization of recreational marijuana is here.
No need to insult us anymore.
No need to keep looking ridiculous repeating these lies.
