  1. Pave roads in the c b d. My god it’s time. Oak st ‘. Franklin av ‘. Wahulnut st’ all of broad st.

  2. the road surfaces are beyond scandalous..

you bond everything else Pave the damm roads main St Franklin is bombed out Rediculous bond it Add it to the happy favors list .if it’s county read them the riot act

    get your act together

  3. Town looks like a war zone, Berlin bombed out and large
excavation sites are filthy previews of what’s to come

Those neighbors are in for a lot of grief ,noise ,pollution
and sadness as they see the overdevelopment takes over
the way of life they valued .

  4. Council promised us that they would not allow the developers to make a mess of our downtown. Why are they not fulfilling this promise?

  5. Council hasn’t been doing their job since Roberta left.

    1. yea no one screwed things up like Roberta and the 3 amigos

  6. Apparently the ongoing discussion of berm designs for the Schedler Property remain a greater priority for this Council than repaving the streets in our CBD. Who is driving that agenda? It’s been discussed at every recent Council work session.

  7. Haha, yeah, right, like Roberta did anything of benefit. NOT

  8. The village officials need to get a hold of Bergen County officials Regarding re-paving roads. Race Track Road, Ackerman Avenue, Goffle Road, east Glen Avenue by my house over rt 17.

  9. Roads are third world. Never ever been this bad. But Schedler dead wood was cleaned up.

  10. James, nice rhetorical slight of hand but let’s have a reality check: How are things running in the Village in the now three years post Roberta? How are the roads? Which standing Council Members supported this garage and high density redevelopment? What has Valley decided to do? Who eliminated the FAC instead of redesigning it to remove political patronage risks? Whose sons were hired by the RPD and RFD with high school equivalency when we should have had our pick of the very best candidates from the police academy regardless of residency? How much tax payer money has been/will be invested in Schedler, the Elks HQ, the old Town Garage, etc? You refuse to entertain any of these questions in these pages which makes you a sycophant for the current “tax & spend, do nothing” Council. Bernie never saw a 4% tax increase she didn’t like. The rest of the Council is the same. Yet you continue ranting about people who haven’t been involved in running the Village for almost three years.

    1. how were the roads during Roberta ,they sucked ,Roberta was an unqualified , unmitigated disaster once again : every action has a reaction. You act, and there are reactions. Your actions have reactions or consequences because you, as every human being, don’t live in a void.

  11. Scandalous roads and streets. This VC is asleep, always has been asleep. Such indifference is insulting especially to those of us who carried their signs on our lawns for weeks. As per Roberta even though I have never been a fan I really think she did a much better job than current VM. You could call or email her and someone would respond to your road etc. concerns. Can’t wait to vote these people out.

  12. One major problem of paving Franklin, Broad and some other CBD roads is that they will immediately
be destroyed by the heavy construction trucks traveling on them. This actually involves Linwood as well as they are using it to bring all the removed dirt over to Schedler for fill and barrier berms. We have had a huge number of heavy trucks and when they leave Schedler many turn into our block thinking they can get across the river, which they can’t.

  13. Looks like Bergen County is taking control of the traffic lights in the CBD and hopefully upgrading them.

  14. Schedler is an unmitigated disaster for that part of town. Fill & barrier berms there seem to be a greater priority for this Council than repaving roads in our CBD… why is that James?

  15. Prospect st is another AWFUL rd – maybe its a county rd? I’m not sure but the roads in this town are really terrible. I drive in and out of here everyday and the roads in this town are some of the worst. Glad I don’t live here

  16. Shame this blog won’t go after the current Council for anything.
