Ridgewood NJ,accord to the Village of Ridgewood Manager Keith Kazmark , the Village received a letter from Colonel Alexander L. Young, Commander of the New York District of the United States Army Corps of Engineers acknowledging the Village’s request for assistance and laying out multiple program options for us to pursue. We are tentatively set to meet internally with the USACE next week to discuss the path forward and next steps with regard to residential flooding and the impact on Village/BOE infrastructure. Progress.

Perfect timing for the meeting. Flood watch for this weekend. They will be able to see the latest damage to the artificial turf fields.

They need to clean the Brooke from Hohokus yo glenrock .remove all of the sandbars ,
Ridgewood mayor continually complains about not having enough fields but does little to ensure that the fields that do not flood are maintained properly. Of course, Ridgewood doesn’t have the grounds crew like Yankee stadium as he has been known to say on many occassions. You would think a former environmental lawyer would care about the environment and realize that turf is toxic.

How about doing a better job cleaning out all of the village storm drains. I go for a walk with my dog and look down in a good majority of them are packed with debris who is inspecting them. Because that definitely not being cleaned like years ago we always seen the storm drain crew out. Services are definitely not the same Mr. Mayor do we have a crew that is out every day cleaning storm drains. it is warranted just like this street sweeper.
“Outlines programs that could be used….” This is the operative sentence in this letter. Flood control projects involve the entire watershed, take many years to get appropriations for the study, many years for the study and public outreach to generate a recommended plan, and then take many more years for appropriations and implementation. In short, flood control projects that get funded move forward over the course of decades, not months.
For Pete’s sake, Just bring back grass fields already
This is just a photo opp and election issue that will keep Paul V and Keith K employed year after year.. just like the dems promising to fix gun regulations, or immigration – year over year. Once it’s fixed, it will no longer be an election issue!!! (So this will never be fixed)

You’re drastically underestimating the volume of water these floods bring. Putting a reservoir at Maple field is akin to putting a dixie cup next to an overflowing toilet.
Same goes for those who think dredging hohokus brook is a solution. What, are you going to build a trench 50 feet deep?

I would love to be there, when the army of engineers meet the engineers from the village, what a circus crew. Someone needs give them a heads up. Because they haven’t done shit regarding the Brooks it’s all a show, just paperwork it’s all bullshit they know it.
