B.
Owners, tenants and occupants of any land abutting the streets or highways of the Village situate in the B-1, B-2, P and P-2 Zones of the Village are subject to the following snow removal regulations. Special regulations are adopted for the business and office zones in order to maintain an attractive and safe environment in the business and professional office zones of the Village by assuring that the snow will be removed from the sidewalks in and around the central business district on a timely basis.
C.
Snow is required to be removed in the B-1, B-2, P and P-2 Zone Districts from the sidewalks concurrently with its fall. To assure compliance with this section, more than one clearing may be required to keep the sidewalks as free of snow as is practical. The following specific regulations are hereby adopted. Snowfalls commencing during the evening, that is, after 6:00 p.m., will be cleared by no later than 9:00 a.m. the following morning, Sundays and holidays included. During weekday storms, Monday through Saturday, occurring during business hours, sidewalks shall be cleared to a five-foot minimum width to provide access from the storefront to the curb, between meters, if meters are installed. After 6:00 p.m. and on Sundays and holidays, sidewalks will be completely cleared into the street.
Get out and shovel.
It’s easy to shovel if you get to within a few hours. Longer than that, there’s a thawing and refreezing process and it becomes ice.
I never had sidewalks on my street in my life, the town would love to put them in and we just flat out told him you stole them. You pay for them. You maintain them, I’m not going out there shoveling snow. I got a bad back and I’m not paying someone to do it either, what’s the next you gotta shovel your driveway within 24 hours, I’m a snowbird. I’m only in New Jersey four months out of the year so don’t know what to tell you and I’ll pick up my phone and I’ll get my mail until I’m back so enjoy.
ok snowbird. you just saw your home value increase by probably double over the last 5 or so years. what a luxury to be able to have 2 homes to choose from. If you don’t want to do the work, hire a service. You are responsible for that. What about the pedestrians who use those sidewalks and don’t have a vehicle? I walk theses sidewalks. I’ve noticed a lot of snow and ice all over the place. Why dont you talk to people to try and find help. I have a bad back and neck and I still do as much as I can to help neighbors when it snows. Why cant you pull your own weight or are you just that privledged?
lawsuit on the way
Nice classic Toro in the photo
I was amazed on how many sidewalks/corner curbs were not shoveled, in the CBD. And this around 3 on Monday awful
been snow shoveling by hand since i was a kid. started with my neighbors in the late 90’s. I stopped in 2015. used to make good money. I even made business cards and grew my operation to around 50 houses i serviced in the northern valley area by hand around that time. used to drive my old honda civic from house to house. Usually started at 500am and ended at 9pm. just a couple small breaks in between. just snow shovel and salt a vehicle and maybe a friend. I started with my A customers (anywhere from 80-120) depending on the snowfall amounts) and then coordinated with the smaller less desired driveways. I remember in 2015 when it snowed alot I made over 1,000 cash in 1 storm. I think it was winter storm Orion. I remember being in the middle of that storm when it was thundering in a heavy snowfall blizzard. Theres no better feeling than be the only one out there doing this that most people dont want to do. Life is so comfortable aint it.
That’s why an extreme weather sanitation cans should be brought to the end of the driveway. No employees should be walking down anyone’s driveway on anyone’s property, we have many employees that got hurt on private property slip and fall on snow and ice, slip drip fall on Sinkholes debris, garden tools, etc. that’s why my family brings their sanitation cans to the end of the driveway all through the year. It’s not worth the lawsuit. And it works out fine. And my family helps out their neighbors to bring out their cans and put it out in the driveway no problems.
three days after pick up and the cans are still decorating the streets
