Westwood Volunteer Fire Department dispatched to a Strip Mall Fire on Kinderkamack Road

Westwood NJ, on Saturday October 22, the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire on Kinderkamack road. Chief 15-1 arrived on scene and had smoke showing from the rear of a 1 story strip mall. Engine 1 arrived and stretched a line to the front door of a restaurant and found fire in the kitchen with extension to the cock loft. Crews from Truck 1 laddered the building and immediately went to the roof to open up. Engine 1-2’s crew assisted is stretching a backup line and overhaul. Crews made an aggressive attack to quickly knock down the fire and hold it to the store front of origin.

Westwood Volunteer Fire Department were joined by Emerson and River Vale Fire Departments. No injuries reported. Westwood Mayor Ray Arroyo , said in a Facebook post , “Nice work WWVFD!”
