WONDERING : Dr Fishbein makes considerably more the Dr. Gabbert. More then our Governor.

We have heard so much this last year about the Village Manager salary and the call from Mayor Aronsohn  for 0% pay raise for all management which gain widespread  support from the residents. Yet there is not even a whisper from these same resident when  the BOED trustees lead by Michele Lenhart  will be pushing for high pay for Dr. Fishbein.

The current base salary for our Superintendent  as reported in The Ridgewood News is more than $220,000. ” A maximum additional 15% is possible said Lenhart”. The BOED is going to asking the state to reconsider the rigidity of its superintendent cap. Dr Fishbein makes considerably more the Dr. Gabbert. More then our Governor. More then any U S Cabinet Member.Dr. Fishbein salary is more then half of what the President of The United Sates makes. So I’m just wondering why no one is upset.

  1. I think there’s a good chance it is because Dr. Fishbein is doing a good job and is worth that salary. I stopped listening to comparisons of public officials salaries after the dust up over Mickey Mantle getting paid more than the President.

  2. Ok so explain to what great job he is doing, I must have missed something in the test scores

  3. yes Do it for the children, from the same gang that brought you John dont know how to use a computer Porter

  4. So its ok to pay a salary of 220 k with up to a 15% increase in this economy because 5 people say that he doing a ” Good Job” and then complain the your taxes are to high.

  5. If he is making too much money then maybe he can buy Hermance Pl.

  6. Do it for the children and the teachers, Dr. Fishbein. Put the money toward protecting our schools with an armed police officer at each school.

  7. FYI, the 15% number refers to a district’s potential ability to pay a salary up to 15% over the capped salary level, which is $170,000. It’s not about an “increase” or “raise” and it’s not in reference to Dr. Fishbein’s current $220,000 salary. If you listened to the conversation at Monday night’s BOE meeting, you would have heard that the issue is the state interfering with the BOE’s ability to do its legislated job, which is to make decisions that the locally-elected officials feel will provide the best possible education for the town’s children. The fallout from this arbitrary cap will negatively affect the state’s schools through extremely high turnover among superintendents and a shrinking pool of experienced educators.

  8. How about the BOED legislated job to be concerned about ALL the tax payers.

  9. You might want to go read the actual wording of legislation as to the role of both the school board in general and school board members.

  10. Comparing Grabbit to Dr Fisbein is like comparing a stale Beer to Champaign. One has no class and the other one is all class.

  11. What have you been smoking?

  12. He is doing a great job running a very large school district.
