Might be time for a delayed green light signal for the heavy traffic continuing up Linwood to oak area to give the lights left turners time to make a safe eary left turn( across oncoming cars)
onto maple towards Glen area.right turners from north side might get a shot at completing a safe right.pedestrians needs would also have to incorporated into any changes there.recent corner car accidents during these turns are another indication of problem.speeding to make the lights another problem.Roadway needs repaving as well.its a hazard.
Let’s shut down North Maple and make it a Pedestrian Mall.

Library mid block crosswalk is a death trap.
No, it’s not the intersections. It’s the drivers. New breed with the Internet bug up their ass; rushing like mad to eyeball SMART phone.
Mad Men have you in the palm of their greedy hands.

Good points..intersections are the physical battlefields ..distracted drivers are the criminals .what is the best strategy to limiting death and injuries ?
delayed green signals providing metered turning and are just one small strategy of many traffic managenent tools, too many drivers are texting look in your rear view mirror.,eyes and heads are down..frightening.
There should be a law against even having a cell phone turned on in a moving car. Period.
Does the light have a delay in place now?
