Ridgewood NJ, the ex mayor Paul Aronsohn and his cronies have flooded the membership of the Ridgewood League of Women Voters. According to their website the League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization encourages the active and informed participation of citizens in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
The League does not support or oppose any candidate or party. Operating on a non-profit, voluntary basis, its work is financed by dues and contributions from members and the general public. Membership is open to all citizens of voting age.
Readers claim, “This could be the LWV’s best-ever new member drive…or the worst, since nobody wants to be with those people. Newbies include Wyne, Winograd, Sonenfeld. All at once.” While other say ,”Aronsohn has now joined the league, and Rurik and Gwenn. Must miss.”
Most readers are quite skeptical over a group of clearly proven partisan hacks joining a supposed “non-partisan political organization” .Will attempts be made to manipulate the electorate and misrepresent information like past Aronsohn campaigns ie… “the Vote Yes” for the Hudson Street garage campaign ? Or will Aronsohn be shut down in dead end political never land ?

It would appear that Aronsohn and his cronies believe that the next local municipal election can’t be won unless they control the LWV. They will certainly be trying to attack Ellie Gruber and Linda McManara and negate any influence those two members carry. Next thing you know, they will start their own Blog!

The League could have gone after Aronsohn and his Amigos many time for various infractions during their four year reign of terror but did nothing. Well here is the problem with your theory. Ellie Gruber and Linda MacNamara are a million times smarter than Aronsohn and crew. And they are completely respected by the citizens of Ridgewood. So no, Aronsohn and his asshole friends will not be taking over the LWV. Not worried about this in the least.
You need to control a power base if you want to have a “political comeback”.
The easiest way to do that it is commandeer an existing organization and corrupt it.

Aronsohn’s plan for his (12+ years in the making and still counting…) political comeback must have decided that The League of Women Voters was the weakest and easiest organization to consume.

They had to find a group that accepts everybody who applies. Too bad it wasn’t a book club.

The League has proven itself to be useless in recent years, most definitely when Crystal Mastibekker was in charge. She was unwilling to take a stand on anything and she had cofffee with Aronsohn regularly. The only way that Aronsohn would be granted membership in anything these days is with open admission…..thus he got into the League.
